6.2 Mounting Options

The Sensor Brite Overlite offers two installation methods:

Adhesive Mounting (Recommended for smooth, clean surfaces)

  1. Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is free of dust, grease, and moisture.
  2. Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive pad on the back cover of the light unit.
  3. Press the light firmly onto the chosen surface for at least 30 seconds. Ensure a strong bond.

Note: For battery replacement, twist the light unit counter-clockwise to detach it from the mounted back cover. This allows battery access without removing the adhesive base.

Screw Mounting (For more permanent installation or uneven surfaces)

  1. Detach the back cover from the light unit by twisting counter-clockwise.
  2. Position the back cover on the desired mounting surface and mark the screw hole locations.
  3. Drill pilot holes if necessary and insert wall anchors (if mounting into drywall or plaster).
  4. Secure the back cover to the surface using the provided screws.
  5. Align the light unit with the mounted back cover and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.

7. Operation

The Sensor Brite Overlite is designed for automatic operation:

  • The integrated motion sensor will detect movement within its 10-foot, 120° range.
  • The light will only activate when motion is detected in low-light conditions. It will not turn on in brightly lit environments to conserve battery life.
  • Once activated, the light will remain on as long as motion is continuously detected.
  • If no motion is detected for approximately 20 seconds, the light will automatically turn off.

Optimal Placement: For best performance, install the light in areas where motion is expected, such as hallways, closets, stairwells, or utility rooms. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct airflow from vents, which could trigger false activations.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Cleaning

To clean the light, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the unit in water.

8.2 Battery Replacement

When the light output diminishes or the unit stops activating, it is time to replace the batteries.

  1. Twist the light unit counter-clockwise to detach it from the mounted back cover.
  2. Remove the old AA batteries from the compartment.
  3. Insert 3 new AA alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity.
  4. Reattach the light unit to the back cover by twisting clockwise until secure.

Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
