Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive materials, or chemical solvents, as these may damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's performance degrades or it stops responding. Always replace all four AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity.
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the Onkyo unit's infrared sensor.
    • Confirm the remote is pointed directly at the unit.
  • Limited range:
    • Check battery strength; weak batteries can reduce range.
    • Ensure no strong light sources (like direct sunlight or fluorescent lights) are interfering with the IR signal.
  • Specific buttons not working:
    • Clean the remote's surface, especially around the non-working buttons, to remove any dirt or debris.
    • If only lower panel buttons are affected, ensure the panel is fully slid down.
