5. Setup and Connection

5.1 Placement

The center channel speaker is crucial for dialogue and central sound effects in a surround sound system. For optimal performance, place the KLH Story speaker directly above or below your television or projection screen, centered horizontally. Ensure it is positioned at or near ear level when seated in your primary listening position.

5.2 Connections

The KLH Story speaker features four binding posts on the rear, allowing for various connection options:

• Full-Range Hookup: Use the pre-installed jumpers to connect the upper (tweeter) and lower (woofer) terminals. Connect your speaker wire from your amplifier/receiver to either the upper or lower set of binding posts.
• Bi-Wiring: Remove the jumpers. Connect one set of speaker wires from your amplifier/receiver to the upper terminals (for the tweeter) and another set of speaker wires to the lower terminals (for the woofers). This requires an amplifier/receiver with two sets of speaker outputs per channel or two separate amplifier channels.
• Bi-Amping: Similar to bi-wiring, but each set of terminals is driven by a separate amplifier channel. This provides maximum control and performance.

Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and – to –) when connecting speaker wires to avoid phase issues.
