4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Connecting to Nintendo Switch (Handheld Mode)
- Insert the HomeSpot Bluetooth Audio Adapter into the USB-C port at the bottom of your Nintendo Switch.
- Ensure no protective casing is installed on the Switch, as this may prevent the adapter from being fully inserted.

4.2 Connecting to Nintendo Switch (Docked Mode), PS4, PS5, or PC
- Attach the included USB-C to USB-A adapter to the HomeSpot Bluetooth Audio Adapter.
- Plug the combined adapter into an available USB-A port on your Nintendo Switch dock, PS4, PS5, or PC.

4.3 Pairing Headphones
- Ensure your Bluetooth headphones are in pairing mode and not connected to any other device. Refer to your headphone's manual for specific pairing instructions.
- On the HomeSpot adapter, press and hold the P1 button (left button) for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode for the first headphone. The P1 LED will flash.
- Once paired, the P1 LED will turn solid green (mic off) or solid amber (mic on).
- To connect a second headphone, press and hold the P2 button (right button) for 2 seconds. The P2 LED will flash.
- Once the second headphone is paired, the P2 LED will turn solid green (mic off) or solid amber (mic on).

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 LED Indicators

- P1/P2 LED (Green): Connected with mic off.
- P1/P2 LED (Amber): Connected with mic on.
- P1/P2 LED (Flashing Green): Connecting or pairing.
- Codec LED (Off): SBC codec active.
- Codec LED (Blue): aptX codec active.
- Codec LED (Amber): aptX Low Latency codec active.
5.2 Built-in Microphone Usage
The built-in microphone allows for in-game voice chat. Press the P1 button to toggle the built-in mic On/Off when the adapter is paired with headphones. The P1 LED will indicate the mic status (Solid Amber for On, Solid Green for Off).
The built-in mic has an effective operating range of 4 feet or less, primarily for handheld mode. It is not practical for docked mode if the user is more than 4 feet away.

5.3 Headphones Microphone (HFP Mode - Beta)
For in-game voice chat using your headphones' microphone (HFP mode), follow these steps:
- Turn on your Switch and navigate to the Home menu.
- Press and hold the P2 button (right button) while inserting the adapter into the Switch.
- Keep holding the P2 button until the LEDs light up after inserting the adapter.
- Connect your headphones as normal.
Once HFP mode is enabled and the adapter is connected with headphones:
- You can still press P1 to toggle the built-in mic (P1 LED Solid Amber = On, P1 LED Solid Green = Off).
- Alternatively, press the Play/Pause button on your headphones to toggle the headphones mic (P1 LED Flashing Amber = On, P1 LED Solid Green = Off).
HFP mode will automatically disable once the adapter is unplugged or the Switch enters Sleep/Off mode.
Note: HFP mode is currently in beta and may not work with all Bluetooth headphones. Audio quality may be degraded when the headphones mic is turned On.
6. Compatibility Notes
- Nintendo Switch: Compatible with both regular Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite.
- Protective Casings: The adapter may not be compatible with most protective casings, as they can prevent full insertion into the USB-C port.
- Audio Codecs: Supports aptX, aptX Low Latency, and SBC codecs. For optimal low-latency performance, ensure your headphones also support aptX Low Latency.

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Pairing Issues
- Ensure your headphones are in pairing mode and not connected to any other device (e.g., phone, tablet).
- If headphones don't automatically reconnect, manually initiate reconnection by pressing the corresponding P1 or P2 button on the adapter once.
7.2 No Audio Output (PS5 Specific)
If you experience no audio when using the adapter with a PS5, ensure the audio output settings are correctly configured:
- Go to PS5 Settings > Sound.
- Under Microphone, set Input Device to USB Headset (HomeSpot).
- Under Audio Output, set Output Device to USB Headset (HomeSpot).
- Crucially, ensure Output to Headphones is set to All Audio, not just Voice Chat Audio.
