Aexit CR2025 2032 Button Cell Battery Holder User Manual

Instructions for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of the Aexit CR2025 2032 Button Cell Battery Holders. These holders are designed for PCB mounting and are compatible with CR/LIR2032, CR2025, and CR2016 button cell batteries. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation.

2. Product Overview

The Aexit button cell battery holders are compact components designed to securely hold a single CR/LIR2032, 2025, or 2016 battery, providing electrical contact for integration into electronic circuits. They feature two terminals for PCB mounting.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Component Identification

Each battery holder consists of a plastic body and two metal terminals. One terminal is for the positive (+) contact and the other for the negative (-) contact. Ensure correct polarity when integrating into your circuit.

3.2 PCB Mounting

  1. Identify the designated mounting points on your Printed Circuit Board (PCB) for the battery holder.
  2. Align the two terminals of the battery holder with the corresponding holes on the PCB.
  3. Carefully insert the terminals through the PCB holes.
  4. Solder the terminals to the PCB pads to ensure a secure mechanical and electrical connection. Pay attention to proper soldering techniques to avoid cold joints or short circuits.

3.3 Battery Insertion

  1. Ensure the battery holder is securely mounted on the PCB.
  2. Obtain a compatible button cell battery (CR/LIR2032, CR2025, or CR2016).
  3. Observe the polarity markings on the battery holder (typically '+' and '-').
  4. Insert the battery into the holder, ensuring the positive (+) side of the battery aligns with the positive contact of the holder, and the negative (-) side aligns with the negative contact.
  5. Gently press the battery until it clicks into place, ensuring it is seated firmly and makes good contact with both terminals.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the battery holder is installed and a battery is inserted, the holder provides power to the connected circuit. No further operational steps are required for the holder itself. The functionality will depend on the circuit it is integrated into.

  • Voltage: The holder is designed for 3.6 Volts, which is typical for CR2032 type batteries.
  • Compatibility: Use only CR/LIR2032, CR2025, or CR2016 batteries. Using incompatible batteries may result in damage or improper function.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Periodically inspect the battery holder for dust or debris. If cleaning is necessary, use a dry, soft brush or compressed air. Avoid using liquids or abrasive materials that could damage the contacts or plastic.

5.2 Battery Replacement

When the battery needs replacement, gently pry it out of the holder, taking care not to bend the metal contacts. Insert a new, compatible battery following the instructions in Section 3.3.

5.3 Storage

If the battery holders are not in use, store them in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and corrosive substances. Keep them in their original packaging or a protective container to prevent damage to the terminals.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Power to Circuit

  • Check Battery: Ensure the battery is correctly inserted with the correct polarity (+/-). Verify the battery is charged and functional.
  • Check Connections: Inspect the soldered connections to the PCB. Ensure they are solid and free from cold joints or short circuits.
  • Check Battery Holder Contacts: Ensure the metal contacts within the holder are not bent or corroded, making proper contact with the battery.

6.2 Intermittent Power

  • Battery Seating: Ensure the battery is firmly seated in the holder and not loose.
  • Vibrations: If the device is subject to vibrations, ensure the battery is held securely and the PCB connections are robust.
  • Corrosion: Check for any signs of corrosion on the battery or holder contacts. Clean if necessary.
