1. Product Overview

The Elgato Key Light is a professional studio lighting solution designed for streaming, recording, and video conferencing. It features a Wi-Fi enabled lighting panel equipped with 160 premium OSRAM LEDs, delivering 2800 lumens of adjustable illumination. Users can control the light's settings, including brightness and color temperature, via the intuitive Control Center app on Mac, PC, iOS, or Android devices.

2. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before using the Elgato Key Light. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

3. Setup

3.1. Unboxing and Components

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The box should contain the following items:

3.2. Assembly

  1. Attach the Key Light panel to the ball mount on the Metal Pole Mount. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Secure the desk clamp to your desk or desired surface. The clamp can expand up to 60mm (2.35 inches).
  3. Insert the Metal Pole Mount into the desk clamp and tighten the screw to secure it.
  4. Adjust the telescopic pole to your desired height. The pole length is adjustable from a minimum of 55 cm (22 inches) to a maximum of 125 cm (49 inches).

3.3. Power Connection

Connect the power supply to the Key Light unit and then plug it into a wall outlet. The light will power on automatically.

3.4. Software Installation and Wi-Fi Setup

To control your Elgato Key Light, you need to install the Elgato Control Center app on your computer (Windows 10 64-bit or macOS 10.14 or newer) or mobile device (iOS or Android).

  1. Download the Elgato Control Center app from the official Elgato website or your device's app store.
  2. Install and launch the application.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions within the Control Center app to connect your Key Light to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your device and the Key Light are on the same network for proper communication.

4. Operating the Elgato Key Light

4.1. Using the Control Center App

The Control Center app provides comprehensive control over your Key Light's settings:

4.2. Stream Deck Integration

For advanced users, the Elgato Key Light can be integrated with an Elgato Stream Deck for quick and customizable control. This allows you to assign specific functions, such as turning the light on/off, adjusting brightness, or changing color temperature, to dedicated keys or dials on your Stream Deck.

5. Maintenance

To maintain the performance and appearance of your Elgato Key Light:

When not in use for extended periods, store the Key Light in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Elgato Key Light, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Ensure the power supply is securely connected to the light and the wall outlet.
  • Verify the wall outlet is functional.
  • Check if the power cable is damaged.
Cannot connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure your device and the Key Light are within Wi-Fi range.
  • Confirm that your Wi-Fi network is 802.11 b, g, or n and uses WPA/WPA2 encryption.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and the Key Light.
  • Ensure no VPN or firewall settings are blocking the connection.
Control Center app not detecting the light.
  • Make sure both the app and the Key Light are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart the Control Center app.
  • Check for app updates.
  • Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that might interfere.
