Setup
Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the French press for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all parts, including the pot, lid, and plunger assembly, are present.
Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wash all parts of the French press with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. This removes any manufacturing residues and ensures optimal hygiene.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Boil Water: Fill the stainless steel pot with the desired amount of water. Place the pot over a heat source (stove, campfire, etc.) and bring the water to a boil.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Once the water has boiled, remove the pot from the heat. Add your preferred amount of coarse-ground coffee to the hot water. A general guideline is 1-2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 ounces of water, but adjust to taste.
- Stir and Steep: Gently stir the coffee grounds to ensure they are fully saturated. Place the lid with the plunger assembly on top of the pot, but do not press down yet. Allow the coffee to steep for 4-5 minutes for a rich flavor.
- Press: Slowly and steadily press the plunger down. The nylon filter will separate the coffee grounds from the liquid. Do not force the plunger down quickly, as this can cause grounds to bypass the filter.
- Serve: Pour the freshly brewed coffee into your mug. The integrated handle folds out for easy pouring.

Boiling Water
The pot can be used independently to boil water for other purposes, such as tea, instant meals, or rehydrating food. Simply fill with water, place on a heat source, and bring to a boil. Ensure the lid is securely placed to retain heat and speed up the boiling process.
Cooking
The durable stainless steel pot is suitable for heating soups, stews, or other small meals. Use over a direct flame or stove. Always ensure the handle is securely extended when handling hot contents.

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
- After each use, disassemble the French press by removing the plunger and lid.
- Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash all components with warm, soapy water. A bottle brush may be helpful for cleaning the inside of the pot.
- Pay special attention to cleaning the mesh filter on the plunger to prevent coffee oil buildup, which can affect flavor.
- Rinse thoroughly and allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling or storing.
- The stainless steel body is resistant to stains, but for stubborn marks, a mixture of baking soda and water can be used.
Storage
Store the French press in a clean, dry place. Ensure all components are dry to prevent odors or mildew. The compact design with the folding handle allows for easy storage in small spaces, such as backpacks or kitchen cabinets.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Coffee tastes weak or watery. | Ensure you are using coarse-ground coffee. Fine grounds can lead to over-extraction or pass through the filter. Increase the amount of coffee grounds or steep for a longer duration. |
| Coffee has grounds in it. | Ensure coffee grounds are coarse. Press the plunger slowly and steadily. Check that the plunger's filter screen is properly seated and not damaged. |
| Plunger is difficult to press down. | This usually indicates coffee grounds are too fine or too much coffee was used. Adjust grind size or reduce coffee quantity. Ensure the plunger is aligned correctly. |
| Pot does not heat efficiently. | Ensure the heat source is adequate and directly applied to the bottom of the pot. For campfires, ensure the pot is positioned within the flame or hot coals. |
