What's Included
Your MPC Remote Start Kit includes the following components:
- Remote Start Module (pre-flashed with vehicle-specific firmware)
- Plug-n-Play T-Harness
- Immobilizer Module
- Zip Ties for securing components
Installation Instructions
This kit features a plug-n-play T-harness design, simplifying installation by minimizing wiring connections. Basic knowledge of car electronics is recommended. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Locate the OBD-II Port: Find the OBD-II diagnostic plug located at the bottom of your vehicle's dashboard, typically near the driver's side footwell.
- Disconnect Existing Connector: Reach behind the OBD-II port. There is a connector plugged into the back. Press up on the locking tab on the bottom of this connector and gently pull it out. You may need to wiggle it slightly to dislodge it.
- Connect T-Harness:
- Take the MPC T-harness. One end of the T-harness will fit directly onto the connector you just removed from the OBD-II port. Snap these two together securely.
- Plug the other end of the MPC T-harness into the back of the original OBD-II port. Ensure all plugs snap firmly into place.
- Program the Remote Start Module:
- Locate the program button on the remote start module.
- Hold down the program button.
- While holding the button, plug in the 4-pin power connector to the module. The LED lights on the module will begin to cycle through red, yellow, and blue.
- Release the program button when only the blue LED is lit.
- Insert the white 5-pin plug into the module.
- Press the vehicle's push-to-start button once to turn the ignition on (do not start the engine). The module's blue LED will turn off, then flash rapidly after a few seconds.
- Press the vehicle's push-to-start button one more time to turn the ignition off. Programming is now complete.
- Secure Components: Use the included plastic zip ties to secure the remote start module and T-harness up under the dashboard. Ensure they are clear of any moving parts, such as pedals or steering components.

Maintenance
The MPC Remote Start Kit is designed for minimal maintenance. Periodically check that all harness connections remain secure and free from debris. No user-serviceable parts are inside the module.
Troubleshooting
- System Not Starting: Ensure all doors are fully closed before attempting to remote start. Verify that the module is correctly programmed and all harness connections are secure.
- Climate Control Behavior (Hybrid Vehicles): In some hybrid vehicles, the climate control system may initially blow cold air at high fan speed during remote start, even if the vehicle was previously set to heat. This is a characteristic behavior of certain hybrid systems and not a malfunction of the remote start kit. The system will adjust once the engine fully engages and warms up.
- Driving Off After Remote Start: For safety, you cannot drive the vehicle immediately after remote starting. You must press the brake pedal and then press the vehicle's push-to-start button to fully engage the ignition and allow normal driving operation.
- Module Not Programming or Functioning: If you encounter persistent issues, ensure the firmware is correct for your specific vehicle year and model. Contact MPC Technical Support for assistance, as firmware updates or specific programming steps might be required for certain vehicle variations.
- Difficulty with Harness Installation: The T-harness may be located in a confined space under the dashboard. Take your time and use adequate lighting to ensure proper alignment and secure connections.
