2. Setup Guide
2.1 Connecting the Telephone
- Connect one end of the handset coil cord to the handset and the other end to the corresponding port on the telephone base unit.
- Connect one end of the UK line lead to the telephone line port on the base unit.
- Connect the other end of the UK line lead to your telephone wall socket.
2.2 Desktop Placement
Place the telephone base unit on a flat, stable surface such as a desk or table. Ensure there is enough space for the handset to rest securely in its cradle.
2.3 Wall Mounting
The Ornin T102 telephone can be conveniently mounted on a wall to save space. Follow these steps:
- Locate the two keyhole slots on the back of the telephone base unit.
- Measure the distance between these two slots.
- Mark two corresponding points on the wall where you wish to mount the phone.
- Drill two holes at the marked points and insert appropriate wall anchors (if necessary).
- Insert screws into the anchors, leaving a small portion of the screw head protruding.
- Align the keyhole slots on the back of the phone with the screw heads and slide the phone downwards to secure it.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Making a Call
- Lift the handset from the base.
- Listen for a dial tone.
- Dial the desired telephone number using the keypad.
- Wait for the call to connect.
- To end the call, place the handset back on the base.
3.2 Receiving a Call
- When the telephone rings, lift the handset to answer the call.
- To end the call, place the handset back on the base.
3.3 M1/M2 One-Touch Memory Dialing
The M1 and M2 buttons allow you to store and quickly dial two important numbers.
Programming Memory Numbers:
- Lift the handset.
- Press the STORE button.
- Dial the telephone number you wish to store (up to 16 digits).
- Press either the M1 or M2 button to save the number to that memory location.
- You will hear a confirmation tone. Place the handset back on the base.
Using Memory Numbers:
- Lift the handset.
- Press the desired M1 or M2 button. The stored number will be dialed automatically.
3.4 Redial Function
To redial the last number called:
- Lift the handset.
- Press the REDIAL button. The last dialed number will be automatically redialed.
3.5 Mute Function
The mute function allows you to speak privately without the other party hearing your conversation.
- During a call, press the MUTE button. The microphone will be muted, but you can still hear the other party.
- To unmute, press the MUTE button again.
3.6 Ringer Volume Adjustment
The ringer volume can be adjusted to your preference.
- On the underside or side of the telephone base, locate the RINGER HI/LO switch.
- Slide the switch to HI for a louder ringer or LO for a quieter ringer.
3.7 T/P Switch (Tone/Pulse Dialing)
The T/P switch allows you to select between Tone (DTMF) and Pulse dialing modes. Most modern telephone systems use Tone dialing. Only switch to Pulse if your telephone line specifically requires it.
- Locate the T/P switch on the telephone base.
- Set it to T for Tone dialing (default and recommended for most users).
- Set it to P for Pulse dialing (only if required by your telephone service provider).
4. Maintenance

- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the telephone. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these may damage the surface.
