4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly set up your CKL HDMI KVM Switch. Ensure all computers have two video output interfaces that support extended display. If your computer does not have two HDMI outputs, reliable adapters (e.g., DVI to HDMI, VGA to HDMI, DisplayPort to HDMI, USB-C to HDMI) may be required (not included). Avoid using adapters on both the computer and monitor sides; use them on one side only.
4.1 Connecting Computers to the KVM Switch
- Connect the end of KVM Cable A (with USB, Audio, and HDMI connectors) to your PC's corresponding ports.
- Connect the single HDMI end of KVM Cable A to the IN A port for the respective PC on the KVM Switch.
- Connect one end of HDMI Cable B (HDMI only) from your PC's second video output to the IN B port for the same PC on the KVM Switch.
- Repeat steps 1-3 for all additional computers you wish to connect (up to 4).

Important Note: For computers with non-HDMI video outputs (e.g., VGA, DVI, DisplayPort), you will need appropriate adapters to convert the signal to HDMI before connecting to the KVM switch. Ensure these adapters are reliable for optimal performance.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your CKL HDMI KVM Switch, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- No Display on Monitors:
- Ensure all HDMI cables (Cable A and Cable B) are securely connected to both the computers and the KVM switch.
- Verify that the KVM switch is powered on and the power adapter is properly connected.
- Confirm that your computers have two active video outputs and are configured for extended display.
- If using adapters (DVI, VGA, DisplayPort to HDMI), ensure they are functional and correctly connected.
- Try restarting the KVM switch and the connected computers.
- Keyboard or Mouse Not Responding:
- Ensure the keyboard and mouse are plugged into the dedicated USB Keyboard and USB Mouse ports on the KVM's rear panel.
- For wireless keyboard/mouse sets, ensure the USB dongle is plugged into the dedicated USB Keyboard port. If issues persist, try plugging it into the front USB 2.0 hub port (note: hotkey and mouse click switching may not be supported from this connection).
- If hotkey switching is enabled and causing issues with special keyboards (e.g., gaming, optical, mechanical), try turning off the Hot Key ON/OFF switch on the front panel. This will convert the dedicated keyboard/mouse ports into standard USB 2.0 hub ports.
- If a computer goes to sleep and you switch away, then switch back, the keyboard/mouse may not wake it up. Unplugging and re-plugging the keyboard/mouse dongle might help, or try waking the computer directly.
- No Audio or Poor Audio Quality:
- Ensure speakers/microphone are correctly connected to the front panel audio jacks.
- Check your computer's sound settings. This model supports decoded HDMI audio; set HDMI audio or Monitor A audio as default in your sound settings.
- Switching Delay:
- A slight delay (a few seconds) when switching between computers is normal as the KVM re-establishes connections.
