4. Setup

4.1. Inserting SIM Cards

  1. Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your device.
  2. Insert the provided SIM ejector tool into the small hole next to the tray and press gently until the tray pops out.
  3. Place your Nano-SIM cards into the designated slots on the tray. Ensure the gold contacts are facing down and the cut corner aligns correctly. The OPPO Find X supports dual Nano-SIM cards.
  4. Carefully reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone until it clicks into place.

4.2. Initial Power On and Setup

  1. Press and hold the Power button (located on the right side) until the OPPO logo appears.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup process. This includes selecting your language, connecting to a Wi-Fi network, setting up your Google account, and configuring security features like fingerprint or face unlock.

4.3. Charging the Device

To charge your OPPO Find X:

  • Connect the Micro USB cable to the charging port at the bottom of your phone.
  • Connect the other end of the cable to the power adapter.
  • Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  • The charging indicator will appear on the screen. Use only OPPO-approved chargers and cables for optimal performance and safety.

5. Operating Your Device

5.1. Basic Navigation

  • Touch: Tap an icon to open an app or select an item.
  • Swipe: Drag your finger across the screen to scroll, switch screens, or dismiss notifications.
  • Pinch: Use two fingers to zoom in or out on photos and web pages.
  • Long Press: Press and hold an item for more options or to move it.

5.2. Making Calls and Sending Messages

  • Calls: Open the Phone app, enter the number, and tap the call icon.
  • Messages: Open the Messages app, tap the new message icon, enter the recipient and your message, then tap send.

5.3. Camera Usage

The OPPO Find X features an innovative pop-up camera module. When you open the camera app, the module will automatically rise. When you exit the app, it will retract.

  • Open the Camera app from your home screen or app drawer.
  • Select your desired mode (Photo, Video, Portrait, etc.).
  • Tap the shutter button to capture a photo or start/stop recording a video.
  • To switch between front and rear cameras, tap the camera switch icon.

5.4. Connectivity

  • Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, turn Wi-Fi on, and select your network.
  • Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth on, and pair with desired devices.
  • Mobile Data: Ensure your SIM card is active and mobile data is enabled in Settings > SIM card & mobile data.

5.5. Security Features

Your OPPO Find X offers advanced security options:

  • Face Unlock: Set up Face Unlock in Settings > Fingerprint, Face & Passcode. The front camera will automatically rise to scan your face for unlocking.
  • Fingerprint Unlock: Register your fingerprints in Settings > Fingerprint, Face & Passcode.
  • Passcode/Pattern: Set a traditional passcode or pattern for backup security.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning Your Device

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen and body of the phone.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or aerosol sprays.
  • Keep ports free of dust and debris.

6.2. Battery Care

  • Avoid extreme temperatures, as they can degrade battery life.
  • Do not leave the phone charging for extended periods after it reaches 100%.
  • For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% and power off the device.

6.3. Software Updates

Regularly check for software updates to ensure your device has the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements. Go to Settings > Software Update to check for and install updates.

6.4. Data Backup

Regularly back up your important data to prevent loss. You can use cloud services (like Google Drive) or connect your phone to a computer to transfer files.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Common Issues and Solutions

7.2. Factory Reset

If you encounter persistent issues that cannot be resolved, a factory reset may be necessary. Warning: This will erase all data on your phone. Back up your data before proceeding.

  1. Go to Settings > Additional Settings > Backup & Reset > Erase all data (factory reset).
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.
