1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your ELING Universal 85mm GPS Speedometer. This speedometer is designed for use in various vehicles including boats, RVs, cars, trucks, and motorcycles, operating on 12V or 24V systems. It features a 0-125MPH range, odometer, and adjustable settings for total mileage and overspeed alarm.
2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect the vehicle's power supply before beginning installation to prevent electrical shock or damage to the device.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated to avoid short circuits.
- Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.
- Do not cut the GPS antenna cable.
- Consult a qualified technician if you are unsure about any installation steps.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:

4. Installation
4.1 Mounting the Gauge
- Cut an 85mm (3 3/8") diameter hole in the desired panel.
- Ensure a clearance of 55mm (2 3/16") behind the panel for the gauge body.
- Insert the gauge into the hole.
- Secure the gauge using the provided mounting ring and nut.

4.2 Wiring Connections
Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections. The speedometer operates on a 9-32V DC power supply.
- Black wire: Ground (GND)
- Red wire: Power (+) (12V/24V)
- White wire: External button (+)
- Red/Yellow wire: Backlight (+)
- Blue wire: Left turn signal indicator (+)
- Green wire: Right turn signal indicator (+)
- White wire (separate from external button): High Beam indicator (+)
4.3 GPS Antenna Installation
Securely fasten the GPS antenna in a location with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. This is crucial for accurate signal reception. Recommended locations include outdoors or inside the front windscreen. Connect the antenna cable to the designated socket on the back of the gauge. Do not cut or modify the antenna cable.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Power-On and GPS Signal Acquisition
After connecting power, allow the gauge approximately 1 minute to acquire a satellite signal. The speedometer will display speed and odometer readings once a stable GPS signal is established. All data is for reference only and should not be trusted as the sole navigation source.
5.2 Backlight Selection
The speedometer supports red and yellow backlights. The specific method for switching between backlight colors is typically controlled via the wiring (Red/Yellow wire) or an internal setting. Refer to the wiring diagram for backlight connection.

5.3 Function Selection (ODO / BUZZ)
To access the function selection menu:
- Press and hold the external button (or the button on the back of the gauge).
- While holding the button, turn on the power supply to the speedometer.
- The LCD will display options such as "ODO" or "BUZZ".
- Release the button to select the currently displayed function.
5.3.1 Adjusting Total Odometer (ODO)
- Select "ODO" from the function selection menu.
- The LCD will show the current odometer value (e.g., "5000" for 5000 miles/km).
- Press the button repeatedly to change the flashing digit from 0 to 9 to set your desired total odometer value.
5.3.2 Adjusting Overspeed Buzzer Alarm (BUZZ)
- Select "BUZZ" from the function selection menu.
- The LCD will show the current alarm threshold (e.g., "B 80" for a buzzer at 80 km/h or mph).
- Press the button repeatedly to change the flashing digit from 10 to 240 to set your desired overspeed alarm threshold.
5.3.3 Saving Settings
After making any adjustments in the ODO or BUZZ settings, you must disconnect both the Power (+) and Ground (GND) wires, then reconnect them. This action saves the new settings. Simply cutting the Power (+) wire alone will not save the settings.
5.4 Switching and Resetting Trip Odometer
The LCD defaults to showing the Total Odometer. A quick press of the external button will switch the display to show the Trip Odometer. To reset the Trip Odometer to zero, press and hold the external button while the Trip Odometer is displayed.
6. Maintenance
The ELING GPS Speedometer is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Keep the gauge clean and dry. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the display or housing. Periodically check wiring connections for tightness and corrosion.
7. Troubleshooting
- Speedometer reading erratic or stuck at 0: Ensure the GPS antenna has a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. Poor signal reception can cause inaccurate readings or prevent the speedometer from functioning.
- Odometer counts up continuously on startup: This indicates the unit is searching for a GPS signal. Ensure the antenna is properly connected and positioned for optimal reception. The odometer will stabilize once a signal is acquired.
- Backlight, turn signals, or high beam indicators not working: Verify that the speedometer is powered on. These indicators will only function when the unit receives power. Check the specific wiring connections for these functions as per the diagram.
- External button not functioning: Ensure the white wire for the external button is correctly connected to the button, and the other terminal of the button is connected to ground.
- Settings not saving after adjustment: Remember to disconnect both the Power (+) and Ground (GND) wires, then reconnect them, after making any changes to ODO or BUZZ settings.
- Inaccurate readings: While GPS speedometers are generally accurate, environmental factors can sometimes affect precision. Ensure the antenna is not obstructed. If persistent inaccuracy occurs, contact customer support.
