Setup
Unfolding the Tripod
- Grasp the tripod firmly and release the leg locks.
- Extend the legs outwards until they click into one of the three available leg angle positions (22°, 52°, or 82°).
- To adjust the leg length, twist the quick-release twist-locks on each leg section counter-clockwise to loosen, extend the leg to the desired length, and then twist clockwise to secure.

Attaching Your Camera
- Ensure the quick release plate is securely attached to the bottom of your camera using the 1/4" screw.
- Open the clamp on the ball head by turning the quick release plate knob.
- Slide the camera with the attached quick release plate into the clamp until it is firmly seated.
- Tighten the quick release plate knob to secure your camera.

Center Column Adjustment
The 2-section center column can be extended for additional height. Twist the column lock to loosen, extend the column, and then tighten to secure. For extreme low-angle photography or macro shooting, the center column can be inverted.

Using the Stability Hook
A stability hook is located at the bottom of the center column. You can hang a weight (e.g., your camera bag) from this hook to increase the tripod's stability, especially in windy conditions or when using heavier camera setups.
Operating Instructions
Ball Head Operation
The aluminum ball head features two independent control knobs. One knob controls the ball's movement, allowing for smooth rotation and vertical tilting for panoramic and portrait shots. The other knob controls the panoramic base rotation.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SIRUI Compact Traveler 5C Tripod, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: After use, especially in dusty, sandy, or wet environments, wipe down all parts of the tripod with a clean, damp cloth. Ensure all twist-locks and moving parts are free of debris.
- Drying: If the tripod gets wet, extend all leg sections and allow them to air dry completely before collapsing and storing. This prevents corrosion and mildew.
- Lubrication: Periodically check the smoothness of the leg extensions and ball head movements. If they become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts, avoiding excessive application.
- Storage: Store the tripod in its portable bag in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect all screws, locks, and joints for any signs of wear or damage. Tighten any loose screws using the provided Allen wrenches.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your SIRUI Compact Traveler 5C Tripod, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Leg sections not extending/retracting smoothly: Ensure the twist-locks are fully loosened. Clean any sand or dirt from the leg sections and apply a small amount of lubricant if necessary.
- Ball head movement is stiff or loose: Adjust the tension knob on the ball head. If it remains stiff, clean around the ball joint. If it's too loose, ensure the camera is not exceeding the maximum load capacity.
- Tripod instability: Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and locked. Verify that the leg angles are properly engaged. For added stability, hang a weight from the stability hook.
- Camera not securely attached: Double-check that the quick release plate is tightly screwed onto your camera and that the quick release clamp on the ball head is fully tightened after inserting the plate.
