  • Avoid placing the freezer in direct sunlight or near heat sources (e.g., stoves, heaters).
  • Ensure adequate air circulation around the freezer. Leave at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space on the sides and back, and 8 inches (20 cm) on top.

4. Operating Instructions

Initial Startup:

After placing the freezer and ensuring proper ventilation, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

Temperature Control:

The freezer features a manual 7-grade temperature control knob located on the back of the unit. The approximate temperature range is -8°F to 7°F (-22°C to -14°C).

  1. Turn the knob to adjust the temperature setting. Higher numbers (e.g., 7) indicate colder temperatures.
  2. Start with a medium setting (e.g., 4) and adjust as needed based on your storage requirements and ambient temperature.
  3. Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize after making an adjustment.

Food Storage:

  • Ensure food is properly packaged to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  • Do not overload the freezer, as this can restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency.
  • Avoid placing hot food directly into the freezer; allow it to cool first.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Manual Defrosting:

This freezer requires manual defrosting. Frost buildup can reduce efficiency. Defrost when frost accumulation reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Leave the freezer door open to allow frost to melt naturally. Place towels on the floor to absorb water.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove frost, as this can damage the cooling system.
  5. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging it back in and returning food.

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the freezer before cleaning.
  • Clean the interior with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. For stainless steel surfaces, use a stainless steel cleaner if necessary.
  • Clean the door gasket regularly to ensure a proper seal.
