5. Operating the Camera
Once connected to your Reolink NVR, the D400 camera will begin recording. You can access live view, playback recordings, and configure settings using the free Reolink App on your smartphone (iOS/Android) or client software on your Windows PC or Mac.
5.1 Super HD Video Quality
The D400 captures video in 4-megapixel (2560x1440) Super HD, providing significantly clearer and more detailed images compared to 720p or 1080p cameras. This high resolution ensures that important details are not missed.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Firmware Updates: Check the Reolink official website or the Reolink App periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware updated ensures optimal performance and access to new features.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect the Ethernet cable and connections for any signs of wear or damage, especially for outdoor installations.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Image/Video: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the camera and the NVR's PoE port. Verify that the NVR is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Poor Image Quality: Check if the camera lens is clean. Ensure there are no obstructions in the camera's field of view. Verify that the camera is set to 4MP resolution in the NVR or app settings.
- No Motion Alerts: Confirm that motion detection is enabled in the camera settings via the Reolink App/Client. Check notification settings on your mobile device and ensure the app has necessary permissions.
- Camera Offline: If the camera appears offline, try restarting the NVR. If the issue persists, try connecting the camera to a different PoE port on the NVR or using a different Ethernet cable.
- Resetting the Camera: If experiencing persistent issues, you may perform a factory reset using the reset button on the camera (refer to Figure 2.1 for location). Note that this will revert all settings to default.
