1. Introduction

The LGIDTECH Miboxer WL5 is a versatile 5-in-1 LED Strip Light Controller designed to manage various LED strip types, including single color, dual white, RGB, RGBW, and RGB+CCT. It offers convenient control through a smartphone application, voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant, and compatibility with MiBoxer/Mi-Light remote controls and wall panels. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting your WL5 controller.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Wiring the LED Strip Controller

Connect your LED strip light to the WL5 controller using a slotted screwdriver. Ensure correct polarity and wire assignment based on your LED strip type (e.g., RGB+CCT LED strip light with 6 wires).

4.2 App Installation and Account Registration

Download the MiBoxer app from your smartphone's app store. You can scan the QR code on the controller or search for "MiBoxer" in Google Play or Apple App Store. Register an account using your phone number or email address.

4.3 Network Configuration

To connect your WL5 controller to your Wi-Fi network:

1. Power on the WL5 controller. The LED strip light should turn on, indicating proper power connection.
2. Long press the 'SET' button on the controller for 3 seconds until the indicator light blinks.
3. In the MiBoxer app, click the '+' icon to add a new device. Select 'Smart Strip Controller (WL5)'.
4. Confirm that the pilot lamp is blinking in the app.
5. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password. Note: The controller does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
6. Start the configuration. Once successful, the indicator light on the controller will turn green.
7. Slide down to refresh the device list in the app. The controller should now appear and be controllable.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 App Control

Once connected, you can control your LED strip lights via the MiBoxer app. The app allows you to:

• Turn lights On/Off.
• Adjust color using a color wheel.
• Control brightness (dimming).
• Adjust Kelvin (color temperature) for white light.
• Set saturation (how much white color is mixed with RGB colors).
• Select from various preset scene modes.

You can also rename the controller in the app for easier identification, especially for voice control.

5.2 Timer Function

The app includes a timer function, allowing you to schedule ON/OFF times for your lights according to your lifestyle. Schedule accuracy is approximately ±30 seconds.

5.3 Group Control

Connect multiple WL5 controllers to set them into groups. This allows you to control countless controllers simultaneously or individually through the smartphone app or a compatible remote control.

5.4 Auto-transmitting and Auto-synchronization

The WL5 controller supports auto-transmitting, where one controller can transmit signals from the remote control to another controller within 30m. This allows for a limitless remote control distance within a strip controller chain. Auto-synchronization enables different controllers to work synchronously when started at different times, controlled by the same remote, under the same dynamic mode and speed.

5.5 Voice Control (Amazon Alexa & Google Home Assistant)

The WL5 controller is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant for voice control. After successful network configuration and linking your MiBoxer account to your smart home assistant, you can use voice commands to control your lights (e.g., "Alexa, turn on Home Light").

5.6 Remote and Wall Panel Control

The WL5 controller can be controlled using compatible MiBoxer/Mi-Light remote controls and wall panels (e.g., B2, B3, B4, B8). These are typically purchased separately. Refer to the specific remote's instructions for pairing and operation.

6. Compatibility

The WL5 controller is a 5-in-1 device, meaning it is compatible with the following LED strip light types:

• Single Color LED Strip Lights
• Dual White Color (CCT) LED Strip Lights
• RGB LED Strip Lights
• RGBW LED Strip Lights
• RGB+CCT LED Strip Lights

Important: This controller is NOT compatible with NEON, addressable, or digital light strips.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with network distribution or control, consider the following common problems and solutions:

• App Access to Location: Ensure the MiBoxer app has access to location permissions in your phone's system settings (especially for iOS and Android).
• Indicator Light Not Flashing: If the red indicator light on the device is not flashing quickly during setup, long press the 'SET' button for 3 seconds to reset it.
• Incorrect Wi-Fi Password: Double-check that the Wi-Fi password entered in the app is correct.
• 2.4GHz Wi-Fi Network: The mobile phone and the controller must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz networks are not supported.
• Controller Distance from Router: Ensure the controller is not too far away from your Wi-Fi router to maintain a stable connection.
