4. Setup and Preparation

4.1. Connecting Air Supply

  1. Ensure your air compressor is off and the air tank is drained.
  2. Connect an air hose to the nailer's air inlet. Ensure the connection is secure.
  3. Set your air compressor's regulator to the recommended operating pressure (typically between 70-120 psi, refer to specifications for exact range).
  4. Turn on the air compressor and allow it to build pressure.
  5. Check for any air leaks at the connections.

4.2. Loading Pin Nails

  1. Disconnect the air supply from the nailer for safety.
  2. Pull back the magazine follower until it locks in the open position.
  3. Insert a strip of 23 gauge headless pin nails into the magazine with the points facing forward. The nail lengths can range from 5/8-inch to 2-inch.
  4. Release the magazine follower, allowing it to gently push the nails forward. Ensure nails are seated correctly.
  5. Reconnect the air supply.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Adjusting Nail Depth

The BOSTITCH BTFP2350K features a tool-free depth adjustment dial. To adjust the nail depth:

  1. Disconnect the air supply before making adjustments.

  3. Rotate the dial to increase or decrease the depth at which the nail is driven. Test on a scrap piece of material to achieve the desired depth.
  4. Reconnect the air supply.

5.2. Driving Nails

Always wear safety glasses and ensure the air supply is connected and set to the correct pressure.

  1. Hold the nailer firmly against the workpiece, ensuring the nosepiece is flush with the surface.
  2. Engage the safety trigger (if applicable to your model's trigger type).
  3. Press the trigger to drive a nail. The tool is designed to drive 23 gauge, 2-inch nails recessed into dense wood.
  4. Release the trigger after each nail.
  5. The low nail lockout feature will prevent the tool from firing when the magazine is nearly empty, indicating it's time to reload.
