Setup Instructions

Operating Instructions

- Starting the Cook:
- Ignite your charcoal in the Big Green Egg as usual.
- Allow the grill to reach approximately 75% of your target temperature before engaging the Egg Genius. This allows the charcoal to establish a stable burn.
- Once the grill is approaching the target temperature, activate the Egg Genius via the app. The variable speed blower will adjust to bring the grill to the precise set temperature.
- Temperature Monitoring:
- The app displays real-time temperatures for both the grill (pit probe) and your food (meat probe).
- View graphs of your cook progress within the application.
- Alerts:
- Receive notifications on your smartphone or tablet when your food reaches its target temperature.
- Get alerts if the grill temperature deviates significantly from your set point (too high or too low).
- Automatic Adjustments:
- The blower automatically adjusts its speed to maintain the set temperature.
- When the dome is opened, the unit detects the sudden temperature drop and temporarily turns off the fan to prevent over-stoking the fire.
- Keep Warm Function: Upon completion of the cook, the Egg Genius can automatically lower the pit temperature to keep your food warm until serving.
- Power Outage Recovery: In the event of a power outage, the unit is designed to resume operation at the last saved set temperature and automatically reconnect to the WiFi network once power is restored.
