User Manual

Product Overview

The Wagner Airless Control 150 M Paint Spray System is designed for efficient and precise application of various coatings, including wall paints, varnishes, glazes, and wood/corrosion protection. It features High-Efficiency Airless (HEA) technology, which reduces spraying pressure for enhanced control, extended service life, and up to 55% less overspray. This system is ideal for medium to large projects, both indoors and outdoors, offering a large hopper for continuous spraying and an innovative nozzle for a smooth finish.

The system includes a 7.5-meter hose for extended reach, providing greater mobility and convenience during operation.

Setup

Before operating your Wagner Airless Control 150 M, ensure all components are correctly assembled and prepared for use. Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator, safety glasses, and gloves.

  1. Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Ensure all listed components, including the nozzle, are present.
  2. Hose Connection: Connect the 7.5-meter hose securely to the main unit and the spray gun. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  3. Material Preparation: Prepare your paint or coating material according to the manufacturer's instructions. This may involve thinning the material to the recommended viscosity for spraying.
  4. Filling the Hopper: Pour the prepared material into the spacious 5500 ml hopper. Ensure the hopper is clean before filling.

CAUTION: Do not let the Control 150 M run dry during operation, as this can cause damage to the pump system.

Operating Instructions

Once the system is set up and the material is loaded, you can begin the spraying process. Always test on a scrap piece of material first to adjust settings and ensure proper spray pattern.

  1. Priming the System: Before spraying, prime the system to remove any air from the hose and pump. Follow the specific priming instructions in your detailed product manual to ensure a consistent flow of material.
  2. Adjusting Spray Pressure: The HEA technology allows for reduced spraying pressure. Adjust the pressure setting as needed for your specific material and desired finish. Start with a lower pressure and gradually increase if necessary.
  3. Spraying Technique: Maintain a consistent distance from the surface (typically 10-12 inches) and move the spray gun in smooth, even strokes. Overlap each pass by approximately 50% to ensure uniform coverage.
  4. Indoor and Outdoor Use: The system is versatile for both indoor and outdoor applications. For indoor projects, ensure adequate ventilation and mask off surrounding areas to protect from overspray.

Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for the longevity and optimal performance of your Wagner Airless Control 150 M. Clean the unit immediately after each use.

  1. Cleaning the System: Flush the system thoroughly with the appropriate cleaning solution (water for latex paints, mineral spirits for oil-based paints) until the liquid runs clear.
  2. Nozzle Care: Remove the nozzle and clean it separately. Use a soft brush to remove any dried paint. Ensure the nozzle orifice is clear and free of obstructions.
  3. Filter Cleaning: Check and clean any filters in the system regularly to prevent clogs and maintain consistent spray quality.
  4. Storage: Store the unit in a clean, dry, and frost-free environment. Ensure all components are dry before storage.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter during operation. For more complex problems, refer to the full product manual or contact customer support.

  • No Spray or Low Pressure:
    • Check if the material hopper is empty or nearly empty.
    • Ensure the system is properly primed and free of air.
    • Inspect the nozzle and filters for clogs. Clean if necessary.
    • Verify all hose connections are secure.
  • Inconsistent Spray Pattern:
    • Clean the nozzle and ensure it is not worn.
    • Check material viscosity; it might be too thick or too thin.
    • Ensure consistent pressure setting.
  • Leaking:
    • Tighten all connections, including the hose and spray gun.
    • Inspect seals and O-rings for damage and replace if needed.
