Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions and warnings carefully before using your FERRET Ice Shelter. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Fire Safety: This tent is flame retardant, but it is not fireproof. Keep all flame and heat sources away from the tent fabric. Do not use open flames, heaters, or cooking equipment inside the tent.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation when using the shelter, especially if using any fuel-burning devices (not recommended). Carbon monoxide can be deadly.
  • Anchoring: Always secure the tent with ice anchors and guy ropes, especially in windy conditions, to prevent it from blowing away or collapsing.
  • Assembly: Exercise caution during setup and takedown to avoid pinching fingers or damaging the frame.
  • Weather Conditions: Do not use the tent in extreme weather conditions beyond its design capabilities, such as severe storms or excessively high winds.

  4. Secure: For stability, especially in windy conditions, use the provided ice anchors and guy ropes. There are 4 reserved holes at each corner and 5 web handles on each side for securing.

Operating Features

Your FERRET Ice Shelter is designed with several features to enhance your ice fishing experience.

  • Doors: The shelter includes 1 zipped door for easy entry and exit. The door can be fixed open using the integrated fasteners.
  • Windows: The design features 7 Velcro abreast double-windows. One layer is oxford fabric, and the other is transparent PVC. These windows allow for broad vision and can be opened or fully removed for additional venting. To attach, first stick on the plastic windows, then secure the Velcro shades.
  • Air Vents: Two air vents are integrated to ensure adequate ventilation within the shelter.
  • Internal Pockets: Two pockets are located inside the shelter for storing necessary ice fishing gear.

Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: The tent fabric is Oxford material. For cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach.
  • Drying: Ensure the tent is completely dry before folding and storing to prevent mold and mildew growth.
  • Storage: Store the tent in its carrier bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the fabric, zippers, hubs, and fiberglass poles for any signs of wear or damage. Repair minor tears promptly to prevent them from worsening.
  • Window Care: The transparent PVC windows should be handled with care to avoid scratches or tears. Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
