1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions.

  • Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or shipping.
  2. Cleaning Before First Use: Wash the container, lid, and lid plug with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Container Assembly: Place the 2-liter container securely onto the motor base. The Self-DETECT technology will recognize the container.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the blender into a grounded 230V AC electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Blending

  1. Add Ingredients: Place ingredients into the container. For best results, add liquids first, then soft ingredients, followed by hard ingredients, and finally ice.
  2. Secure Lid: Place the lid firmly on the container and insert the lid plug.
  3. Select Speed: Turn the variable speed dial to your desired speed (1-10). Start at a lower speed and gradually increase to avoid splashing.
  4. Start Blending: Press the Start/Stop button to begin blending.
  5. Use Tamper (if needed): If ingredients are not circulating, use the tamper through the lid plug opening to push them towards the blades. Do not use the tamper if the lid plug is not in place.
  6. Stop Blending: Press the Start/Stop button to stop the blender.

5.2. Using Automatic Programs

The Vitamix A3500i features three pre-programmed settings for common recipes:

  • Smoothies: Ideal for fruit and vegetable smoothies.
  • Hot Soups: Blends and heats ingredients through friction.
  • Frozen Desserts: Perfect for ice creams, sorbets, and frozen yogurts.
  • Dips & Spreads: For hummus, nut butters, and salsas.
  • Self-Cleaning: For quick and easy cleaning of the container.

To use a program:

  1. Add ingredients to the container.
  2. Select the desired program icon on the control panel.
  3. Press the Start/Stop button. The blender will run through the program and automatically shut off when complete.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1. Container Cleaning

The easiest way to clean your Vitamix container is immediately after use:

  1. Fill the container halfway with warm water and add a drop of dish soap.
  2. Secure the lid and lid plug.
  3. Select the "Self-Cleaning" program (if available) or run on high speed for 30-60 seconds.
  4. Rinse the container thoroughly with clean water.

For stubborn residue, a brush may be used. The container, lid, and lid plug are dishwasher-safe (top rack only).

6.2. Motor Base Cleaning

Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or other liquids. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

6.3. Storage

Store the blender in a clean, dry place. Ensure the container is completely dry before storing to prevent odors.

7. Troubleshooting
