Vitamix support FAQ

Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.

  • Why did my Vitamix blender stop while blending?

Vitamix motors are designed with a thermal protection system to prevent overheating. If the motor stops, turn the machine off and unplug it. Allow it to cool for 20-45 minutes before attempting to use it again.

  • How do I use the tamper properly?

The tamper allows you to accelerate the process of very thick and/or frozen mixtures. Only use the tamper provided with your machine, and ensure the lid is securely locked in place. Remove the lid plug and insert the tamper through the opening. Do not use the tamper for more than 30 consecutive seconds to avoid overheating.

  • Is my Vitamix container dishwasher safe?

Many newer Vitamix containers (such as those in the Ascent and Explorian series) are top-rack dishwasher safe. However, check your specific owner's manual. Alternatively, you can self-clean by filling the container halfway with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then running on High for 30-60 seconds.

  • What do the error codes E1, E2, or E3 mean?

Error codes on digital models indicate specific issues with the machine's operation or sensors. If you see an error code, note the number and contact Vitamix Customer Service at 1-800-848-2649 for assistance.

  • How can I register my Vitamix product?

Product registration helps Vitamix provide better support and efficient warranty service. You can register your blender online at the official Vitamix Support page or by returning the registration card included with your purchase.
