2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Power On
Carefully remove the speaker and all accessories from the packaging. Before first use, ensure the speaker is fully charged. Connect the power adapter to the speaker's power port and plug it into a wall outlet. The power indicator light will show charging status.
To power on the speaker, press the power button located on the top surface. A sound indicator will confirm the device is powered on and ready for pairing.

2.2 Bluetooth Pairing
- Ensure the speaker is powered on. The Bluetooth indicator light on the top panel will begin flashing blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
- On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
- Select "Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 5" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will turn solid blue, and you will hear an audible confirmation from the speaker.
- If pairing fails, turn off the speaker and your device's Bluetooth, then repeat the steps.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Basic Controls
- Power Button: Press to turn the speaker On/Off.
- Volume Buttons (+/-): Press to increase or decrease the volume.
- Bluetooth Button: Press to enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Play/Pause Button: Press to play or pause audio playback.
3.2 Speakerphone Function
When a call comes in while connected via Bluetooth, the music will pause. Press the Play/Pause button to answer the call. Press it again to end the call. To reject a call, press and hold the Play/Pause button.
3.3 Dual Speaker Connection
To connect two Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 5 speakers for a stereo experience:
- Ensure both speakers are powered on and not currently connected to any Bluetooth device.
- On one speaker (this will be your primary speaker), press and hold the Bluetooth button until it enters pairing mode.
- Connect your mobile device to this primary speaker via Bluetooth as described in Section 2.2.
- On both the primary and secondary speakers, press the Bluetooth button once. They will automatically search for each other and connect.
- Once connected, audio will play through both speakers, creating a wider soundstage.

4.2 Battery Care
To maximize battery life, fully charge the speaker before its first use and after extended periods of non-use. Avoid completely draining the battery frequently. If storing the speaker for a long time, charge it to about 50% every few months to prevent battery degradation.
