2. Safety Information

Operating a chainsaw can be dangerous if proper safety precautions are not followed. Always prioritize your safety and the safety of others. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, heavy-duty gloves, a hard hat, and sturdy footwear. Long pants and a long-sleeved shirt are also recommended.
• Work Area: Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, children, and pets. Maintain a safe distance from other people and objects.
• Kickback Awareness: Understand the risks of kickback and how to prevent it. Always maintain a firm grip with both hands and be aware of the chain's position.
• Battery Safety: Use only the specified SENIX 58V Max lithium-ion battery and charger. Do not expose batteries to water or extreme temperatures.
• Tool Condition: Before each use, inspect the chainsaw for any damage, loose parts, or dull chain. Do not operate a damaged tool.
• Proper Grip: Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands, with your thumb wrapped around the handle.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery and Charger

The SENIX CSX5-M-0 is a tool-only product. The SENIX B25X5 58V Max* 2.5 Ah battery and CHX5 2 Amp charger are sold separately. Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. Refer to the battery and charger manuals for specific charging instructions.

4.2 Bar and Chain Installation

1. Ensure the chainsaw is turned off and the battery is removed.
2. Remove the chain cover.
3. Carefully place the chain around the drive sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face the correct direction.
4. Reattach the chain cover and hand-tighten the knob.
5. Use the tool-less chain tensioning system to adjust the chain. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
6. Tighten the knob securely.

4.3 Oiling System

The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system. Before each use, fill the oil reservoir with appropriate bar and chain oil. Monitor the oil level through the oil level window during operation and refill as needed to ensure continuous lubrication.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Chainsaw

1. Ensure the chain brake is disengaged (pulled back towards the handle).
2. Insert a fully charged 58V Max battery into the battery compartment.
3. Press the handle-mounted trigger lock out button, then squeeze the trigger to start the chainsaw.

5.2 Cutting Techniques

Always maintain a balanced stance and firm grip. Let the chainsaw do the work; do not force it. For trimming limbs and small branches, position the chainsaw securely and make smooth, controlled cuts. For larger pieces of firewood or trees up to 28 inches in diameter, plan your cuts to avoid pinching the bar or causing kickback. Always be aware of the direction of falling wood.

5.3 Chain Brake Operation

The chain brake is a safety device designed to stop the chain quickly. It can be engaged manually by pushing the front hand guard forward or automatically during a kickback event. Always ensure the chain brake is engaged when carrying the chainsaw or when not actively cutting.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your chainsaw. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.

6.1 Chain Tensioning

Check chain tension frequently, especially during initial use. A properly tensioned chain should be snug against the guide bar but still allow you to pull it around the bar by hand. Adjust using the tool-less tensioning system as described in Section 4.2.

6.2 Oiling

Ensure the automatic oiling system is functioning correctly and the oil reservoir is filled with quality bar and chain oil. Proper lubrication is critical for chain and bar life.

6.3 Cleaning

After each use, clean sawdust, chips, and debris from the chainsaw, especially around the bar, chain, and motor housing. Use a brush or compressed air. Do not use water to clean the electrical components.
