  1. Prepare the Refrigerator Connector: If your refrigerator's internal connector is not horizontally aligned, use the provided adjustment tool (if included) to turn the connector counter-clockwise until the raised portion is in a horizontal position.
  2. Align the Filter: Align the notches on the new Waterdrop filter cartridge connector with the corresponding slots in the refrigerator's filter housing.
  3. Insert and Lock: Push the new filter into the housing and twist it clockwise until it locks securely into place. You may hear a slight whoosh sound as water enters the filter.

4.3 Post-Installation Flush

  1. Dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the refrigerator's dispenser. This flushes air from the system and primes the filter.
  2. Check for any leaks around the filter housing. If leaks occur, remove and re-install the filter, ensuring it is properly seated and twisted clockwise until secure.

  • Pressing and holding the "Filter" or "Reset" button for 3-5 seconds.
  • Pressing a combination of buttons (e.g., "Ice Type" and "Child Lock").

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Waterdrop WD-F46 filter operates automatically with your refrigerator's water dispensing system. For optimal performance:

  • Always use cold water for drinking and cooking from the dispenser.
  • Ensure the filter is replaced regularly as recommended to maintain water quality.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures consistent water quality and extends the life of your refrigerator's water system.

6.1 Filter Replacement Schedule

It is recommended to replace your Waterdrop WD-F46 water filter every 6 months or after filtering 200 gallons of water, whichever comes first. This schedule may vary depending on your local water quality and usage.

6.2 Using Month Install Stickers

The filter package includes complimentary month install stickers. Apply a sticker with the installation date to the filter or a visible location on your refrigerator to help track the filter's service life and remind you when a replacement is due.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Water Leaks: Ensure the filter is fully inserted and twisted clockwise until it locks securely. Remove and re-install if necessary. Check the O-rings for damage.
  • Poor Water Taste/Odor: This may indicate the filter needs replacement. Ensure the post-installation flush was performed adequately. If the issue persists after replacement, contact customer support.
  • Slow Water Flow: A slow flow rate can indicate a clogged filter that needs replacement. Ensure the filter is correctly installed and not obstructed.
  • Filter Indicator Light Not Resetting: Refer to your refrigerator's owner's manual for the correct filter reset procedure.
