3. Product Overview

3.1 DVR Unit

The ZOSI DVR is a compact unit designed for efficient surveillance recording. It comes with a pre-installed 2TB security-grade hard drive for extensive storage.

3.2 Rear Panel Connections

The rear panel provides all necessary ports for connecting cameras, monitors, audio devices, and network cables:

  • Video Input (BNC): Connect up to 8 security cameras.
  • Audio In/Out (RCA): For audio input from cameras and audio output to speakers.
  • Monitor (VGA/HDMI): Connect to a monitor or TV for live viewing and system configuration.
  • Network (RJ45): Connect to your router for remote access.
  • USB: For mouse connection and USB backup.
  • Power Supply: Connect the included power adapter.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Connection

  1. Connect your cameras to the DVR's BNC video input ports.
  2. Connect a monitor to the DVR using either the VGA or HDMI port.
  3. Connect the USB mouse to a USB port on the DVR.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable from the DVR's network port to your router for network access.
  5. Connect the power adapter to the DVR and plug it into a power outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.

4.2 Camera Compatibility

This 4-in-1 DVR supports a wide range of security cameras, including HD-TVI, CVI, CVBS, and AHD camera types. It provides flexibility to add 720P, 1080P, 3MP, 4MP, and 5MP CCTV Security Cameras.

4.3 Network Setup and Remote Viewing

For remote viewing, ensure your DVR is connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable. You can access the system remotely using the ZOSI Smart App on your smartphone or tablet, or the ZOSI AVSS Client on your PC/Mac.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Recording Modes

The ZOSI DVR offers four recording modes to suit your needs:

  • Continuous Recording: Records footage 24/7.
  • Scheduled Recording: Records during specified time periods.
  • Motion Detection Recording: Records only when motion is detected.
  • Recycle Recording: Automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the hard drive is full.

5.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

Customize specific motion detection zones for each camera to minimize false alerts. Smart instant notifications and email alerts will be pushed to your phone when motion is detected.

5.3 Playback and Storage

You can access recorded footage locally via the DVR connected to a monitor, or remotely through the ZOSI Smart App/AVSS Client. The 2TB hard drive allows for ultra-long continuous recording.

5.4 H.265+ Video Compression

The H.265+ technology significantly improves data compression ratio, maintaining high video quality even at low bit-rates. This maximizes storage space and provides smoother viewing compared to older H.264 compression.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ZOSI DVR system, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Keep Clean: Regularly wipe the DVR unit and camera lenses with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Proper Ventilation: Ensure the DVR is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the ZOSI official website for firmware updates to enhance system stability and features.
  • Data Backup: Regularly back up important footage to an external USB drive to prevent data loss.
  • Power Stability: Use a surge protector to protect the DVR from power fluctuations.
