1. Introduction
The GROHE Blue 31251002 Single-Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet provides instant access to filtered chilled water, medium carbonated or full sparkling water, and unfiltered tap water. This manual outlines the necessary steps for installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your faucet system.
2. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the functionality of your GROHE Blue system. Please follow these steps carefully. It is recommended to watch the installation video for a visual guide.
- Prepare the Mounting Hole: Place the black washer over the mounting hole on your sink or countertop.
- Insert the Faucet: Carefully insert the faucet into the mounting hole.
- Secure the Faucet: From underneath the sink, slide the washers onto the shank of the faucet. Screw on the mounting nut and insert the screws to lock the faucet in place.
- Install Hose Weight: Slide the weight onto the pull-down hose to ensure proper retraction.
- Connect Faucet Hoses: Screw the quick coupler and adapter onto the end of the faucet hose. Insert the blue drinking water hose into the opening on the adapter and snap the red clip to lock it in place. Connect the quick coupler to the cold water copper pipe.
- Install T-Piece: Install the T-piece on the cold water angle stop. Thread the cold water supply onto the T-piece and tighten. Thread the hot water supply onto the hot water angle stop and tighten.
- Connect Filter Head: Arrows on the filter head indicate the direction of water flow (in to filter & out of filter). Connect the loose supply hose to the inlet of the filter head and tighten.
- Connect Chiller Hoses: Insert the other end of the blue drinking water hose (with black piece attached) into the chiller. Insert the red drinking water hose to the chiller.
- Connect Power: Connect the power cable from the faucet to the chiller, aligning the pins and gently installing. Install the power cord to the chiller and plug it into a power outlet.
- Install Water Filter: Hand screw the filter into the filter head.
- Initial Chiller Setup: Use the chiller's dial to choose your preferred language (English), unit system (Imperial for USA), and pipe length (32in is preset for standard installation). Use water test strips to determine water hardness and set the filter settings (F parameter) accordingly. Adjust the bypass of the filter head (1, 2, or 3) according to the local carbonate hardness. Choose the CO2 bottle size (2kg is recommended for USA 5lb bottles). Select 'Finish Onboarding'.
- Install CO2 Tank: Install the CO2 gauge onto the CO2 bottle. Ensure the white washer is in place prior to connecting to the CO2 tank. Connect the red water hose to the CO2 gauge. Open the CO2 bottle. Adjust the PSI for CO2 to be between 65 & 70 PSI by loosening the nut and tightening the screw. Once set, tighten the nut back in place.

4.2 CO2 Tank Replacement
When the CO2 tank is empty, the gauge will read zero pressure.
- Turn Off CO2 Supply: Turn the valve on the CO2 tank clockwise to shut off the gas supply.
- Remove Old Tank: Use a wrench to unthread the coupler nut connecting the gauge to the tank. Carefully remove the empty CO2 tank.
- Install New Tank: Thread the CO2 gauge onto the new, full CO2 tank. Ensure the white washer is in place and tighten securely to prevent leaks.
- Open CO2 Supply: Turn the valve on the CO2 tank counter-clockwise to open the gas supply.
- Adjust PSI: Verify the output pressure on the gauge is between 65 & 70 PSI. Adjust if necessary by loosening the nut and tightening the screw on the regulator, then re-tighten the nut.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your GROHE Blue system.
- No Chilled/Sparkling Water: Check if the chiller is powered on and connected. Verify the CO2 tank has pressure and is open. Ensure the water supply to the system is open.
- Low Carbonation: Check the CO2 tank pressure and ensure it is within the recommended 65-70 PSI range. The CO2 tank might be low or empty.
- Faucet Handle LED Issues: If the LED is flashing orange, the filter needs replacement. If the LED indications are incorrect, perform a handle calibration as described in Section 3.2.
- Water Leaks: Inspect all connections for tightness. Ensure washers and O-rings are properly seated. If leaks persist, contact customer support.
- Chiller Error Codes: Refer to the chiller's display for specific error codes. Consult the full product manual for a comprehensive list of error codes and their solutions.
