4. Setup Instructions
4.1. Pump Placement
- Identify the desired location for the wave maker inside your aquarium. Consider areas that will provide optimal water circulation without directly blasting corals or sensitive inhabitants.
- Place the wave maker pump inside the aquarium, ensuring it is fully submerged.
- Position the external magnet on the outside of the aquarium glass, directly opposite the internal magnetic bracket of the pump. The strong magnetic force will secure the pump in place.
- Adjust the angle of the pump as needed to direct water flow.

4.2. Electrical Connections
- Connect the cable from the wave maker pump to the designated port on the controller. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
- Connect the AC power adapter to the controller.
- Plug the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The controller display should illuminate, indicating power.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Controller Overview
The controller allows for various adjustments to the wave maker's operation. Familiarize yourself with the buttons and indicators:
- MODE/NIGHT: Cycles through different wave modes and activates/deactivates the night sensor.
- SPEED/FEED: Adjusts pump speed and activates the feed mode.
- W.LL/LOCK: Locks the current settings to prevent accidental changes.
- MASTER/SLAVE Switch: Used when operating multiple wave makers to designate one as the master and others as slaves for synchronized operation.
- Light Sensor: Automatically detects ambient light levels.
- Speed Indicators: Displays the current pump speed setting.
- Mode Indicators (W1, W2, Else, H, C): Shows the currently active wave mode.
5.2. Wave Modes
Press the MODE/NIGHT button to cycle through the available wave patterns:
- W1 (Wave Mode): Creates a single, consistent wave pattern.
- W2 (Sine Wave Mode): Generates a smoother, sine wave-like flow pattern.
- Else (Random Mode): Produces varied and unpredictable flow patterns, simulating natural ocean currents.
- H (Constant Flow Mode): Provides a steady, non-pulsating water flow.
- C (Feed Mode): This is not a continuous mode. When activated, the pump slows down for 10 minutes to allow for feeding without food being immediately swept away.
5.3. Speed Adjustment
In any active wave mode (W1, W2, Else, H), press the SPEED/FEED button to increase or decrease the pump's output speed. Observe the speed indicators on the controller to select the desired flow intensity.
5.4. Night Sensor
The built-in light sensor automatically detects when aquarium lights are off. When activated, the pump will automatically slow down to a gentler flow, mimicking natural nighttime conditions. To toggle the night sensor function, press and hold the MODE/NIGHT button.
5.5. Feed Mode
To activate the feed mode, briefly press the SPEED/FEED button. The pump will reduce its speed for approximately 10 minutes, providing a calm period for fish to feed. After 10 minutes, the pump will automatically resume its previous operating mode and speed.
5.6. Locking Settings
To prevent accidental changes to your chosen settings, press and hold the W.LL/LOCK button until the lock indicator illuminates. To unlock, press and hold the button again.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning the Pump
Regular cleaning of the wave maker is essential for optimal performance and longevity. Algae and debris can accumulate on the impeller and housing, reducing efficiency and potentially causing noise.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the power adapter from the electrical outlet before removing the pump from the aquarium.
- Disassemble: Carefully remove the front cage and impeller cover. The impeller can then be gently pulled out.
- Clean Components: Use a soft brush or cloth to remove any algae, detritus, or calcium buildup from the impeller, impeller shaft, and pump housing. A solution of white vinegar and water can help dissolve stubborn calcium deposits.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse all components with clean, dechlorinated water.
- Reassemble: Carefully reassemble the pump, ensuring all parts are correctly seated.

6.2. Regular Inspection
Periodically check the power cord and all connections for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Ensure the magnetic bracket maintains a strong hold on the aquarium glass.
7. Troubleshooting
- Pump Not Turning On:
- Check all electrical connections to ensure they are secure.
- Verify that the power adapter is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Ensure the controller is properly connected to both the pump and the power adapter.
- Reduced Flow or Unusual Noise:
- Disconnect power and remove the pump from the aquarium.
- Inspect the impeller for any obstructions (e.g., sand, debris, snails) and clean thoroughly as described in Section 6.1.
- Check for air bubbles trapped within the pump housing. Gently shake the pump while submerged to release them.
- Controller Display Not Working:
- Ensure the power adapter is correctly connected and receiving power.
- Try unplugging the power adapter for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in to reset the controller.
- Night Sensor Not Activating:
- Ensure the night sensor function is enabled on the controller (refer to Section 5.4).
- Check that the light sensor on the controller is not obstructed and is exposed to ambient light.
