Product Overview

Safety Instructions

Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before using the appliance. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

• Do not direct steam at people, animals, or electrical equipment.
• Ensure the appliance is unplugged before filling or emptying the water tank.
• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before storing.
• Use only distilled or demineralized water to prevent limescale buildup.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Setup

1. Filling the Water Tank: Unscrew the safety cap on the top of the steam cleaner. Use the provided measuring cup to fill the water tank with up to 0.4 liters of distilled or demineralized water. Do not overfill. Securely screw the safety cap back on.
2. Attaching Accessories: Select the appropriate accessory for your cleaning task.
   • For general cleaning and hard-to-reach areas, attach the detail nozzle directly to the steam gun.
   • For larger surfaces like floors, connect the extension tubes to the steam gun, then attach the EasyFix floor nozzle. Secure the microfiber floor cloth to the floor nozzle using the hook-and-loop fasteners.
   • For hand-held cleaning of smaller surfaces, attach the hand nozzle and secure a microfiber cover.
3. Power Connection: Plug the steam cleaner into a grounded electrical outlet. The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the appliance is heating up. The heating time is approximately 5 minutes.

Operating Instructions

Once the indicator light turns off, the steam cleaner is ready for use. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

1. Activating Steam: Press and hold the steam trigger on the handle to release steam. For continuous steam, some models may have a lock function on the trigger.
2. Cleaning Surfaces:
   • Kitchen Surfaces: Use the detail nozzle or hand nozzle with a microfiber cover for stovetops, countertops, and sinks. Move the nozzle slowly over the surface to allow the steam to penetrate and loosen dirt.

   • Bathroom Surfaces: The detail nozzle is effective for cleaning grout lines, faucets, and shower corners. For larger tiled areas, the hand nozzle with cover can be used.

   • Sealed Hard Floors: Attach the extension tubes and EasyFix floor nozzle. Move the floor nozzle back and forth over the floor surface. The microfiber cloth will collect the loosened dirt.

   • Windows and Glass: Use the hand nozzle with a microfiber cover, then wipe with a clean, dry cloth for streak-free results.

   • Upholstery and Car Interiors: For spot cleaning or refreshing, use the hand nozzle with a microfiber cover. Test on an inconspicuous area first to ensure colorfastness.

3. Refilling Water: If steam production decreases or stops, the water tank is empty. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool for a few minutes before carefully unscrewing the safety cap and refilling.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your Kärcher SC1 EasyFix.

• Cleaning Microfiber Cloths/Covers: After each use, remove the microfiber cloths and covers from their respective nozzles. They can be machine washed at up to 60°C (140°F) without fabric softener.

• Descaling: If you notice reduced steam output or white residue, the appliance may need descaling. Follow the descaling instructions provided in the full user manual or on the Kärcher website.
• Cleaning the Appliance: Wipe the exterior of the steam cleaner with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the appliance in a dry, frost-free place, out of reach of children. Ensure the water tank is empty before storage.
