3. Setup
3.1 Unboxing
Upon opening the package, ensure all components are present:
- 1 x Gain Express HTM-238 Humidity & Temperature Meter
- 1 x Instruction Manual
- 1 x 9V Battery

3.2 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the meter.
- Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
- Connect the provided 9V battery to the battery connector, observing polarity.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press the Power ON/OFF button (⏻) to turn the meter on. Press and hold the same button for approximately 2 seconds to turn the meter off. The device will automatically shut down after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
4.2 Taking Measurements
Once powered on, the meter will immediately begin displaying current humidity (%RH) and temperature (°C/°F) readings on the LCD. Ensure the sensor at the top of the device is exposed to the environment you wish to measure.

4.3 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

- Current Reading: Default display.
- MAX: Displays the maximum temperature and humidity recorded since the meter was turned on or reset.

- HOLD: Freezes the current readings on the display. Press MAX again to exit HOLD mode and return to current readings.
