3.2. Connecting the Microphone

  1. Locate the microphone port on your compatible Cisco 8831 IP Conference Phone.
  2. Carefully insert the RJ-45 connector of the microphone cable into the designated port until it clicks into place.
  3. Ensure the cable is routed to prevent tripping hazards and maintain a stable connection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Operation

Once connected, the microphone is ready for use with your Cisco 8831 IP Conference Phone. Audio input will be automatically routed through the microphone during calls or conferences.

4.2. Mute Function

The microphone unit features a mute button for privacy and control during calls.

  • Press the mute button to mute the microphone. An indicator (if present on the device or phone interface) will typically show the mute status.
  • Press the mute button again to unmute the microphone.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning

  • Disconnect the microphone from the conference phone before cleaning.
