6. Installation
6.1. Wiring Diagram
Refer to the following wiring diagram for proper connection. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
- Terminals 1 & 2: Connect to the heating load (e.g., water heating valve).
- Terminals 3 & 4: Connect to the AC 95-240V power supply (L for Live, N for Neutral).
- Terminals 5 & 6: Connect to the NTC 10K 3950 temperature sensor.
- MODBUS (Optional): Terminals for MODBUS communication (A, B, white, red) are available for advanced integration.
6.2. Mounting the Thermostat
- Ensure the power supply to the heating system is turned off at the main circuit breaker.
- Separate the front panel of the thermostat from its mounting base.
- Connect the electrical wires to the appropriate terminals on the mounting base as per the wiring diagram (Figure 5). Use wires of 2 x 1.5 mm² or 1 x 2.5 mm² cross-section.
- Mount the base onto a standard 86 x 86 mm square or European 60 mm round electrical box using the provided mounting screws. The installation hole spacing is 60 mm.
- Carefully attach the front panel of the thermostat to the mounted base, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
- Restore power to the heating system.
7. Initial Setup and Wi-Fi Connection
7.1. Power On
After successful installation and power restoration, the thermostat display will light up. If it does not, check the power supply and wiring.
7.2. Mobile App Download and Installation
To utilize the remote control and smart features, download the compatible mobile application. Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in your device's app store.
- For iOS devices: Requires iOS 8.0 or above.
- For Android devices: Requires Android 4.1 or above.
7.3. Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Open the installed mobile application and register/log in.
- On the thermostat, press and hold the "Down" arrow button for 5-8 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon on the display starts flashing rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
- In the app, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon. Select "Thermostat" or "Heater" from the device list.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to connect the thermostat to your home Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon on the thermostat display will become solid, indicating a successful connection.
8. Operating Instructions
8.1. Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the ⏻ (Power) button to turn the thermostat on or off.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the ▲ (Up) and ▼ (Down) arrow buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The set temperature will be displayed.
- Mode Selection: Press the M (Mode) button to switch between Manual mode and Programmable mode.
8.2. Programmable Mode (Weekly Schedule)
The thermostat supports a 5+2 (weekdays + weekend) or 6+1 (weekdays + one weekend day) or 7-day programmable schedule with six periods per day.
- In Programmable mode, press and hold the M (Mode) button for 3-5 seconds to enter programming settings.
- Use the M button to cycle through the different periods (e.g., Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep) and days.
- Use the ▲ (Up) and ▼ (Down) arrows to adjust the start time and temperature for each period.
- Confirm settings by pressing the ⏻ (Power) button or waiting for the display to time out.
8.3. App Remote Control
Once connected to the mobile app, you can control your thermostat from anywhere with an internet connection.
