Operating Instructions
Remote Control
Use the Yale Access App on your smartphone to lock or unlock your door from any location with an internet connection.
Auto-Unlock and Auto-Relock
The kit supports automatic unlocking as you approach your door with your phone and automatic relocking once the door is closed, thanks to the integrated DoorSense sensor.
Keypad Access
If your phone battery is low or unavailable, you can still use the physical keypad on your Yale Assure Lock to enter your entry code and unlock the door.
Voice Assistant Integration
Control your lock using voice commands through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri. For example, you can ask to lock the door or check its status.

Create and manage virtual keys for friends, family, or service providers directly from the Yale Access App. You can set specific access schedules (e.g., for a few hours, weeks, or permanently) and revoke access at any time.
Activity Tracking
The Yale Access App provides a 24/7 activity log, allowing you to see who enters and exits your home and when, enhancing security and peace of mind.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The Yale Assure Lock operates on AA batteries. The Yale Access App will notify you when battery levels are low. Replace all batteries simultaneously with new, high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance.
Cleaning
Clean the exterior of your lock and Wi-Fi Bridge with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
Troubleshooting
Connectivity Issues
- Wi-Fi Bridge not connecting: Ensure the bridge is plugged into a live outlet within close proximity (10-15 feet) of the lock. Verify your home Wi-Fi network is active and stable.
- App not detecting lock: Confirm the Smart Module is correctly inserted into the lock and the lock batteries are charged. Try restarting the Yale Access App.
App Pairing Difficulties
- QR code scanning issues: If the app struggles to scan the QR code, try manually entering the serial number found on the module or its packaging.
- Lock not responding after module insertion: Perform a factory reset on your Yale Assure Lock as per its original manual, then re-enable wireless functionality through the lock's menu before attempting app pairing again.
