Product Overview
The Amazon Basics Dual Firearm Safety Device is designed to provide secure storage for firearms, valuables, or documents. It features a programmable electronic keypad for quick access and a traditional key lock for backup entry. The interior is lined with foam to protect contents.

Setup
1. Initial Access
Upon first use, access the device using the provided backup keys. Insert one of the keys into the keyhole on the front of the device and turn it to unlock. The door will automatically open.
2. Battery Installation
The electronic keypad requires batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment, typically inside the door or on the back panel. Insert the required number and type of batteries (e.g., 4 AA batteries) according to the polarity indicators.
3. Setting Your Personal Access Code
- With the door open, locate the programming button (often a small red or green button) inside the device.
- Press the programming button. The keypad will typically beep or an indicator light will illuminate.
- Enter your desired 4-8 digit access code on the keypad.
- Press the programming button again to confirm. The device should beep or flash to indicate successful programming.
- Test the new code with the door open before closing it. If the code works, close the door and test it again.
Note: If the code is not accepted, repeat the programming steps. Keep your access code confidential and memorable.
4. Mounting the Device (Optional)
The device features pre-drilled holes for floor mounting to enhance security. Use the included hardware to secure the device to a solid surface. Ensure the mounting location is stable and discreet.

Operating Instructions
1. Opening with Electronic Keypad
- Enter your programmed access code on the keypad.
- The device will beep or an indicator light will confirm the correct code.
- The door will automatically open.
2. Opening with Backup Key
In case of battery failure or forgotten code, use the backup key:
- Insert the backup key into the keyhole.
- Turn the key to unlock the device.
- The door will automatically open.
3. Closing the Device
To close the device, simply push the door firmly until it latches shut. The electronic lock will automatically engage.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries annually or when the low battery indicator (if present) illuminates. Use only the recommended battery type.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Keyhole Maintenance: Periodically check the keyhole for obstructions. Do not lubricate the keyhole unless specifically recommended by the manufacturer.
