2. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Always wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet when riding. This helmet is certified to ECE 22.05 standards, indicating it meets European safety requirements. However, no helmet can protect against all possible impacts. For maximum protection:

• Ensure the helmet fits snugly and comfortably.
• Always fasten the chin strap securely.
• Never modify your helmet in any way.
• Replace your helmet after any impact, even if visible damage is not apparent.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals for cleaning, as they can damage the helmet materials.

3. Setup and Fitting

3.1 Helmet Sizing

A correct fit is crucial for safety. Measure your head circumference at the widest point, approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) above your eyebrows. Refer to the size chart below to select the appropriate helmet size.

3.2 Checking the Fit

Once you have your helmet, perform the following checks:

1. Put on the helmet: It should feel snug around your head, with even pressure.
2. Move the helmet: With the chin strap unfastened, try to rotate the helmet from side to side and front to back. Your skin should move with the helmet, not the helmet sliding independently.
3. Chin Strap Adjustment: The YM-925 features a reinforced quick-release chin strap. Thread the strap through the D-rings (if applicable) or engage the quick-release buckle. Tighten the strap until it is snug under your chin, allowing only enough room for two fingers to fit comfortably between the strap and your chin.
4. Roll-off Test: With the strap fastened, try to roll the helmet off your head from the back. If it comes off, the helmet is too large or the strap is too loose.

4. Operating the Helmet Features

4.1 Dual Visor System

The YM-925 is equipped with a dual visor system: a clear outer visor and an integrated, retractable sun visor.

• Clear Outer Visor: This visor provides primary eye protection. It is scratch-resistant and UV-resistant. To open or close, simply lift or lower the visor using the tab. The visor can be removed and installed without tools for cleaning or replacement.
• Internal Sun Visor: The integrated sun visor helps reduce glare in bright conditions. Operate it using the easy-to-use sliding switch located on the side of the helmet. Slide it down to deploy and up to retract. This visor is also scratch-resistant and UV-resistant.

4.2 Modular Function

The modular design allows the chin bar to be raised, converting the helmet from a full-face to an open-face style. This is useful for quick stops or communication.

• To raise the chin bar, locate the release button (usually at the center of the chin bar) and press it while lifting the chin bar upwards until it locks into place.
• To lower the chin bar, press the release button again and gently pull the chin bar down until it securely latches into the closed position. Ensure it is fully locked before riding.

4.3 Ventilation System

The helmet features adjustable intake and exhaust vents to maintain optimal airflow and comfort.

• Front Vents: Located on the chin bar and forehead, these can be opened or closed to control air intake.
• Rear Exhaust Vents: Positioned at the back of the helmet, these allow hot air to escape.

Adjust these vents as needed to create a constant, light airflow, helping to keep you cool and prevent visor fogging.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Outer Shell

Clean the helmet's outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or petroleum-based products, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.

5.2 Visor Care

Clean visors with warm water and a soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a helmet-specific visor cleaner. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. Ensure visors are completely dry before re-installing.

5.3 Removable and Washable Liner

The YM-925 features a fully removable and washable interior lining to keep your helmet clean, fresh, and odor-free.

1. Carefully remove the cheek pads and comfort liner by detaching their snap fasteners or clips.
2. Hand wash the liner components in cold water with mild soap. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
3. Allow the liner to air dry completely before re-installing. Do not tumble dry or expose to direct heat.
4. Re-install the liner components, ensuring all snaps and clips are securely fastened.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Visor Fogging

If your visor fogs up, ensure the ventilation system is open. You can also slightly crack open the main visor to allow more airflow. Anti-fog treatments or pinlock inserts (if compatible) can also help.

6.2 Excessive Wind Noise

While the YM-925 is designed to reduce wind noise, some noise is inherent in helmet use. Ensure all vents are closed if you wish to minimize noise. A proper fit is also crucial; a loose helmet can contribute to increased wind noise. Earplugs can be used for extended rides.

6.3 Chin Bar Not Latching Securely

If the modular chin bar does not latch securely, check for any obstructions. Ensure you are pressing the release button fully and pushing the chin bar down firmly until you hear a click. If the issue persists, inspect the latching mechanism for damage.
