2. Safety Information

3. Setup

4. Operating Instructions
Familiarize yourself with the console and controls before beginning your workout.
4.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, flip the switch located at the rear of the machine. The console will illuminate.
- To power off, flip the switch back to the off position. You may also leave it plugged in and the console will enter a low-power standby mode after a period of inactivity.

The console features a clear display for workout metrics (Time, Strides, Strides/Minute, Calories, Profile, Calories/Minute, Watts, METS) and control buttons for CrossRamp, Resistance, QuickStart, Select, Reset, and Enter.
4.3 Starting a Workout
- Step onto the foot pedals, ensuring your feet are centered and secure.
- Grasp the moving handlebars or stationary handles.
- Press the QUICKSTART button to begin a manual workout immediately. The timer will start, and you can adjust settings as you go.
- Alternatively, select a programmed course using the SELECT and ENTER buttons (see Section 5 for program details).

4.4 Adjusting CrossRamp (Incline)
The CrossRamp feature allows you to manually adjust the incline of the elliptical path, targeting different lower body muscles. Use the CROSSRAMP up/down arrow buttons to change the incline level (1-3 positions). Higher incline levels engage the glutes and hamstrings more, while lower levels focus on quadriceps and calves.
4.5 Adjusting Resistance
Increase or decrease the workout intensity using the RESISTANCE up/down arrow buttons. The EFX 5.23 offers 16 levels of magnetic resistance, allowing for a wide range of workout challenges.
4.6 Heart Rate Monitoring
The elliptical supports both touch and telemetry heart rate monitoring. Grasp the stationary handles to use the touch sensors, or use a compatible chest strap (not included) for continuous telemetry monitoring. The console displays your heart rate and SmartRate zone (Weight Loss, Cardio, Peak).

- Manual: Control all settings manually.
- Cross Training (XTR): Varies resistance and incline for a full-body challenge.

- Custom Course 1 & 2 (CST1, CST2): Allows users to create and save personalized workout programs.

6. Maintenance
