  1. Locate the USB cable provided in the package.
  2. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to the port at the base of the barcode scanner.
  3. Plug the larger USB-A end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer (Desktop or Laptop).
  4. The scanner is plug-and-play and should be automatically recognized by your operating system.

6. Operating Modes

The Esup ES 3300 scanner supports both Automatic Induction Mode and Manual Mode.

6.1 Automatic Induction Mode (Auto-scan)

In this mode, the scanner's light is normally off. When a barcode is presented within its scanning range, the scanning light automatically activates and reads the barcode without requiring a trigger press.

  • Activation: To enable Automatic Induction Mode, scan the 'Auto-induction - ON' barcode provided in the manual guide or on a configuration sheet.

6.3 Switching Between Modes

You can also switch between Automatic Induction Mode and Manual Mode by pressing and holding the scanner's trigger button for approximately 10 seconds. This provides a quick way to toggle between the two operational modes.

  • Windows (XP, 7, 8, 10)
  • Mac OS
  • Linux

Important: This scanner cannot read 2D barcodes such as QR codes or PDF417, nor can it read barcodes displayed on screens (e.g., mobile phones, monitors).

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the scanner's window and body with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use water, alcohol, or chemical cleaning agents, as these can damage the device.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or twisting the USB cable excessively to prevent internal wire damage.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Scanner not reading barcodes:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the computer.
    • Verify that the scanner is in the correct operating mode (Manual or Automatic Induction) for your task.
    • Check if the barcode type is supported by the scanner (only 1D barcodes are supported).
    • Ensure the barcode is not damaged, smudged, or poorly printed.
  • Scanner not recognized by computer:
    • Try plugging the USB cable into a different USB port on your computer.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Ensure no other conflicting USB devices are connected.
  • Scanner stays on all the time (laser constantly active):
    • This indicates the scanner is likely in Automatic Induction Mode. If you prefer to trigger scans manually, switch to Manual Mode by scanning the 'Auto-induction - OFF' barcode or by pressing and holding the trigger button for 10 seconds.
