Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance of your Shark ZS351 vacuum.
Emptying the Dust Cup
The extra-large dust cup should be emptied regularly to maintain suction power. To empty, press the dust cup release button and hold the dust cup over a trash bin. Press the bottom release latch to open the bottom of the dust cup and empty debris. Close the bottom flap and reattach the dust cup to the handheld vacuum.
Cleaning Filters
The Shark ZS351 uses washable foam and felt filters. It is recommended to clean these filters monthly for best performance.
- Remove the dust cup.
- Pull the foam and felt filters out of the filter housing.
- Rinse the filters with cold water until the water runs clear.
- Allow filters to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not use a hairdryer or other heating methods.
Zero-M Self-Cleaning Brushroll
The Zero-M brushroll is designed to actively remove hair wrap during cleaning. Periodically inspect the brushroll for any remaining debris or blockages. If necessary, carefully remove any stubborn debris.

Troubleshooting
If your vacuum is not performing as expected, check the following:
- No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into an electrical outlet. Check the circuit breaker if necessary.
- Loss of Suction: Empty the dust cup and clean the foam and felt filters. Check for blockages in the nozzle, wand, or hose.
- Brushroll Not Spinning: Ensure the vacuum is in the correct surface setting (Carpet mode for brushroll activation). Check for obstructions in the brushroll. The indicator light on the nozzle will illuminate if there is a brushroll issue.
- LED Headlights Not Working: Check the power connection and ensure the vacuum is turned on.
