1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Mc Haus ARTIC-20 Portable Air Conditioner. This appliance is designed to provide efficient cooling, dehumidification, and ventilation for your indoor spaces. With its 9000 BTU cooling capacity and Class A energy efficiency, the ARTIC-20 offers a comfortable environment with convenient features like a remote control, 24-hour timer, and sleep mode.

To ensure safe and optimal operation, please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and retain it for future reference. Improper use may result in electric shock, fire, or other injuries.

3. Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your Mc Haus ARTIC-20 portable air conditioner:

  1. Placement: Place the unit on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is at least 30 cm (12 inches) of clearance from walls and other objects to allow for proper airflow. Do not place the unit near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  2. Exhaust Hose Connection: Attach one end of the exhaust hose to the air outlet on the back of the unit. Extend the hose and connect the other end to the window sealing kit.
  3. Window Kit Installation: Install the window sealing kit in a compatible window. Ensure the window is securely closed around the kit to prevent outside air from entering. The exhaust hose should vent hot air directly outside.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 220-240V, 50Hz electrical outlet.
  5. Drainage (Optional for Dehumidification): For continuous dehumidification, connect a drainage hose (not included) to the continuous drainage port at the back of the unit and direct it to a suitable drain or container.

4. Operating Instructions

The ARTIC-20 can be operated using either the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

  • POWER: Turns the unit ON or OFF.
  • MODE: Cycles through Cooling (Cool), Dehumidification (Dry), and Fan modes.
  • SPEED (High/Low): Adjusts the fan speed between High and Low settings.
  • TIMER: Sets the 24-hour ON/OFF timer.
  • Temperature Up/Down Arrows: Adjusts the desired temperature in Cooling mode.

Remote Control

The remote control provides convenient access to all functions from a distance.

  • POWER: Turns the unit ON or OFF.
  • MODE: Selects operating mode (Cool, Dry, Fan).
  • FAN SPEED: Adjusts fan speed (High, Low).
  • SLEEP: Activates sleep mode for quiet operation and adjusted temperature.
  • TIMER: Sets the 24-hour ON/OFF timer.
  • TEMP ▲/▼: Adjusts the desired temperature.
  • °C/°F: Toggles between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature display.

Operating Modes

  • Cooling Mode: Select 'Cool' mode. Use the temperature arrows to set your desired room temperature. The unit will cool the room to the set temperature.
  • Dehumidification (Dry) Mode: Select 'Dry' mode. The unit will operate to remove excess moisture from the air. In this mode, the fan speed cannot be adjusted.
  • Fan Mode: Select 'Fan' mode. The unit will circulate air without cooling. Choose between High or Low fan speed.

Timer Function

The 24-hour timer allows you to program the unit to turn ON or OFF automatically. Press the 'TIMER' button and use the temperature arrows to set the desired ON/OFF time.

Sleep Mode

Activate 'SLEEP' mode for quieter operation and a gradual temperature adjustment during the night, promoting a more comfortable sleep environment. This mode is typically available only in Cooling mode.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your air conditioner. Always unplug the unit before performing any maintenance.

Air Filter Cleaning

The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks, or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

  1. Turn off and unplug the unit.
  2. Locate the air filter panel on the back of the unit.
  3. Gently remove the filter from its housing.
  4. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, or wash it with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit. Do not expose to direct sunlight.

Water Drainage

The unit has an internal water tank (360 ml capacity) that collects condensed water. When the tank is full, the unit will stop operating and an indicator light will illuminate. Drain the water as follows:

  1. Turn off and unplug the unit.
  2. Place a shallow pan or container under the drainage port at the bottom rear of the unit.
  3. Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
  4. Once all water has drained, replace the drain plug securely.

For continuous drainage, connect a suitable hose to the continuous drainage port and direct it to a floor drain.

Storage

Before storing the unit for an extended period:

  • Drain all condensed water from the unit.
  • Clean the air filter.
  • Run the unit in fan-only mode for a few hours to dry the internal components.
  • Store the unit in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ARTIC-20, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions. If the problem persists, contact customer support.

Unit does not turn on. No power supply; Power cord not plugged in; Water tank full. Check power outlet and plug; Ensure power is supplied; Drain water tank.

Water leakage. Drain plug not securely closed; Continuous drainage hose loose or blocked. Ensure drain plug is tightly closed; Check continuous drainage hose for secure connection and blockages.
"Water Full" indicator is on. Internal water tank is full. Drain the internal water tank as per maintenance instructions.

8. Warranty and Support

Warranty Information

The Mc Haus ARTIC-20 Portable Air Conditioner comes with a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and workmanship under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, unauthorized modifications, or improper installation.
