5. Setup

5.1. Software Installation

The Teslong Digital Otoscope is designed for plug-and-play functionality with most compatible devices. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a camera application that supports external USB cameras.

5.2. Connecting the Device

  1. Identify the correct adapter for your device (Micro USB or USB-C).
  2. Connect the integrated USB cable of the otoscope to the appropriate adapter.
  3. Plug the adapter into your smartphone, tablet, or computer's USB port.
  4. Open the camera application on your device. The otoscope feed should appear automatically. If not, select the external camera source within the app settings.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Using the Otoscope for Observation

  1. Attach a clean silicone ear pick/sleeve to the tip of the otoscope probe.
  2. Gently insert the otoscope into the ear canal while observing the live feed on your connected device.
  3. Adjust the angle and depth slowly to get a clear view of the ear canal and eardrum. The LED lights will illuminate the area.
  4. The otoscope has a fixed focal length. Move the tip slightly closer or further away to achieve the clearest image.

6.2. Ear Wax Removal (with caution)

If using the ear picks for wax removal, proceed with extreme caution:

  1. Ensure the ear pick is securely attached and clean.
  2. Under direct visual guidance from the screen, gently scoop or dislodge ear wax.
  3. Never force the tool or push wax deeper into the ear canal. If wax is impacted or difficult to remove, consult a medical professional.
  4. Stop immediately if you feel any pain, discomfort, or hear unusual sounds.
