Setup

1. Initial Charging (Solar Drive)

Your ETT Eco Tech Time watch is powered by light. Upon first use or after prolonged storage in darkness, the watch may require initial charging. Expose the watch face to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. The watch will begin operating once sufficient charge is accumulated. Avoid covering the watch face for extended periods to ensure continuous power supply.

2. Radio Signal Reception (DCF 77)

The watch automatically receives the DCF 77 radio signal from Mainflingen, Germany, to ensure precise timekeeping. For optimal reception:

  • Place the watch near a window, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • The best reception typically occurs at night.
  • Ensure the watch is not covered or obstructed.

If the watch does not receive the signal automatically, refer to the "Troubleshooting" section or attempt manual time setting.

3. Manual Time Setting (If Required)

In areas outside the DCF 77 reception range or if automatic synchronization fails, you can set the time manually. Consult the detailed instructions for your specific movement (W345) in the full manual, typically involving pulling out the crown and rotating it, or using the pushers for digital display adjustments.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Time Display

The watch displays time both analogically (hands) and digitally. The analog hands typically synchronize with the radio-controlled time. The digital display can show various information depending on the mode.

2. Chronograph (Stopwatch) Function

To use the chronograph:

  1. Press the upper pusher (A) to start the stopwatch.
  2. Press pusher (A) again to pause/resume.
  3. Press the lower pusher (B) to reset the chronograph to zero.

3. Worldtimer Function

Your watch features a worldtimer function for 38 cities. To access and set the world time:

  1. Enter Worldtimer mode using the mode button (refer to watch diagram for exact button).
  2. Use the adjust pushers to cycle through the available cities.
  3. The digital display will show the time for the selected city.

4. Date, Day, and Perpetual Calendar

The watch features a perpetual calendar, meaning it automatically adjusts for different month lengths and leap years. The date and day are displayed digitally. These functions are typically synchronized via the radio signal. Manual adjustment may be possible through specific button combinations if needed.

5. Automatic Daylight Saving Time (DST) Adjustment

The radio-controlled function automatically adjusts for daylight saving time changes (summer and winter time) within the DCF 77 reception area.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Water Resistance (10 ATM / 100 Meters)

Your watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM (100 meters). This rating means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. Do not operate the pushers or crown while the watch is wet or submerged. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.

3. Solar Cell Care

To maintain the solar cell's efficiency, ensure the watch face is regularly exposed to light. Avoid storing the watch in complete darkness for extended periods, as this can deplete the internal accumulator. If the watch stops due to low charge, expose it to bright light to restart.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: Ensure it has been sufficiently charged by exposing it to bright light.
  • Incorrect time/date: Verify radio signal reception. Try placing the watch in a location with better reception overnight. If still incorrect, attempt manual time setting.
  • Hands not aligning with digital display: This may require a hand alignment procedure. Refer to the full manufacturer's manual for specific steps, as this often involves a combination of button presses.
  • Digital display blank: Check charge level. If charged, a reset might be necessary (consult manufacturer support).
