Setup and Initial Use

Battery Installation:

The Ozeri WeightMaster scale requires 3 AAA batteries, which are included with your purchase. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated within the compartment. Close the battery cover securely.

Placement:

For accurate readings, place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring, as this can affect measurement precision.

Initial Calibration (StepOn Technology):

The scale features 'StepOn' technology for automatic calibration. Simply step onto the scale to activate it. The display will show '0.0' or 'CAL' briefly before displaying your weight. For the most accurate first reading, it is recommended to step on the scale, allow it to display a reading, then step off. Wait for the display to clear, and then step on again for your actual measurement.

Setting Up User Profiles (Up to 5 Users):

The Ozeri WeightMaster can store profiles for up to 5 unique users, allowing for personalized tracking of BMI and BMR. Refer to the detailed instructions in the included physical manual for specific steps on how to input user data such as height and age. Once set up, the scale's Auto Recognition Technology will identify the user based on their weight, providing personalized data.

Operating Instructions

Taking a Measurement:

  1. Ensure the scale is on a firm, flat surface.
  2. Step onto the scale with bare feet, standing still and centered.
  3. The scale will automatically turn on and display your weight.
  4. After displaying your weight, it will cycle through your BMI, BMR, and weight change detection (L1, L3, L7) if a user profile is active.
  5. The scale will automatically power off after a few seconds of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Understanding the Display:

The LCD provides various metrics to help you monitor your progress:

  • Weight: Your current body weight in pounds (lbs) or kilograms (kg).
  • BMI (Body Mass Index): An estimate of body fat based on your height and weight.
  • BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): The number of calories your body needs to maintain basic physiological functions at rest.
  • Weight Change Detection (L1, L3, L7): Displays your net weight change from your last weigh-in (L1), the average of your last 3 weigh-ins (L3), and the average of your last 7 weigh-ins (L7).

Color Alert Technology:

The scale's display illuminates in different colors to provide intuitive feedback on your weight trend:

  • GREEN Illumination: Indicates weight loss.
  • RED Illumination: Indicates weight gain.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

The scale's tempered glass surface is easy to clean. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the finish or electronic components. Ensure the scale is dry before storage or next use.

Battery Replacement:

When the display indicates low battery (often a 'Lo' symbol or dimming display), it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the 'Setup' section. Always replace all 3 AAA batteries at the same time with new ones to ensure optimal performance.

Storage:

Store the scale in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not place heavy objects on the scale when not in use, as this may affect its calibration over time.
