5.2 Initial Placement
Once batteries are installed, the thermometer is ready for use. Position the main unit in a convenient location where the display can be easily read. Extend the wired probe to the area where temperature measurement is required.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Taking a Temperature Reading
- Ensure the thermometer has power (display is active).
- Place the metal probe tip into the environment or substance you wish to measure. For air temperature, ensure the probe is suspended and not touching any surfaces for an accurate reading.
- Allow a few moments for the temperature to stabilize on the LCD. The thermometer provides fast readings, but stabilization time may vary depending on the temperature difference.
- Read the temperature directly from the LCD display. The unit typically displays temperature in Celsius (°C).

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
- Wipe the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- Clean the metal probe with mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly. Ensure the probe is dry before storage or next use.
7.2 Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use. Coil the probe cable neatly to prevent tangling or damage.
7.3 Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or shows inaccurate readings, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1. The device does not have an on/off switch, so battery life is continuous once installed.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display or dim display | Dead or low batteries; incorrect battery installation. | Replace batteries (CR2032). Ensure correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings or "Lo oC" displayed | Probe not properly placed; probe damaged; battery connection loose. | Ensure probe is fully immersed or correctly positioned. Check battery compartment for secure fit. If problem persists, the probe may be damaged. |
| Display turns off intermittently | Loose battery connection. | Re-seat batteries firmly in the compartment, ensuring they are not loose. |
