4. Operating Instructions
This section details how to operate your Eureka Forbes Select WD X2 vacuum cleaner for both wet and dry cleaning, as well as using its blower function.
4.1 Power On/Off and Suction Control

Figure 4.1: Close-up of the control panel, showing the power switch and dynamic dial power control.
- Power Switch: Locate the red ON/OFF switch on the control panel. Push it to the 'ON' position to start the vacuum cleaner and to 'OFF' to stop it.
- Dynamic Dial Power Control: Use the rotary dial on the control panel to adjust the suction power according to your cleaning needs. Turn the dial clockwise to increase suction and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- Intelligent Dust Bag Indicator: This indicator light will illuminate when the dust bag is full or when the filter requires cleaning, signaling a reduction in suction efficiency.
4.2 Dry Vacuuming
For dry vacuuming, ensure the HEPA filter and dust bag are correctly installed. Attach the appropriate dry cleaning accessory (e.g., floor brush for carpets/hard floors, crevice tool for narrow spaces). Turn on the unit and adjust suction as needed.
4.3 Wet Vacuuming
Before wet vacuuming, remove the dust bag and ensure the HEPA filter is suitable for wet use or replaced with a foam filter if specified (refer to filter instructions). Attach the wet cleaning nozzle. Do not overfill the tank; monitor the water level. Empty the tank immediately after wet cleaning to prevent damage.
4.4 Blower Function
To use the blower function, disconnect the hose from the suction inlet and securely attach it to the blower outlet port, typically located at the rear of the motor unit. This function is useful for blowing dust from hard-to-reach areas or drying surfaces.
4.5 Auto Clean Switch

The Smart Auto Clean Switch is designed to automatically clean the filter during operation, maintaining optimal suction power. Refer to the specific instructions in the full manual for detailed usage of this feature.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your vacuum cleaner. Always unplug the appliance before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Emptying and Cleaning the Dust Tank
- When the intelligent dust bag indicator illuminates, or after each use, especially wet vacuuming, empty the dust tank.
- Release the latches securing the motor unit to the tank.
- Carefully lift the motor unit.
- Dispose of collected debris or dirty water.
- Rinse the tank with clean water and allow it to dry completely before reassembling.
5.2 Filter Maintenance

Figure 5.1: An internal view showing the filter system of the vacuum cleaner.
- HEPA Filter: Periodically remove and clean the HEPA filter. Tap it gently to dislodge dust or rinse it under cool running water if it is washable. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.
- Dust Bag: Replace the dust bag when full or when suction power decreases significantly.
- Foam Filter (for wet use): If your model uses a separate foam filter for wet vacuuming, clean it after each wet use and ensure it is dry before storage.
5.3 Accessory Cleaning
Clean all accessories (nozzles, brushes, pipes) regularly to prevent blockages and maintain hygiene. Wash them with water and mild detergent if necessary, then allow them to air dry completely.
