6. Operating Instructions

The ChiliTec LED Projector operates automatically based on the settings of its integrated PIR motion sensor. When motion is detected within the sensor's range and the ambient light level is below the set threshold, the light will activate for the specified duration.

There is no manual on/off switch on the unit itself; operation is controlled by the motion sensor and its adjustable parameters.

7. Adjustments (Motion Sensor Settings)

The motion sensor features three adjustable knobs to customize its operation:

Close-up of motion sensor adjustment knobs: SENS, TIME, LUX

Figure 7.1: The three adjustment knobs on the motion sensor: SENS (Sensitivity), TIME (Duration), and LUX (Twilight Threshold).

  • SENS (Sensitivity): Adjusts the detection range of the motion sensor. Turn clockwise for higher sensitivity (longer detection range, up to 6m) and counter-clockwise for lower sensitivity (shorter detection range, down to 1m).
  • TIME (Duration): Sets how long the light remains on after motion is detected. Adjustable from approximately 10 seconds to 7 minutes. Turn clockwise for a longer duration and counter-clockwise for a shorter duration.
  • LUX (Twilight Threshold): Determines the ambient light level at which the sensor becomes active. Turn towards the sun symbol for the sensor to activate only in darker conditions (e.g., night). Turn towards the moon symbol for the sensor to activate in brighter conditions (e.g., dusk or even daylight).

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the projector and sensor lens regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the power is disconnected before cleaning.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the power cable for any damage and ensure all mounting screws are tight.
  • LEDs: The LED light source is not user-replaceable. If the LEDs fail, the entire unit should be replaced.

9. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Light does not turn on.
  • No power supply.
  • LUX setting too high (daylight).
  • Sensor not detecting motion.
  • Check power connection and circuit breaker.
  • Adjust LUX knob towards the moon symbol.
  • Check SENS setting and sensor's line of sight.
Light stays on continuously.
  • Constant motion in detection area.
  • Sensor malfunction.
  • Adjust SENS to reduce detection range or reposition sensor.
  • Contact customer support.
Light turns on too frequently.
  • SENS setting too high.
