The GCB95 pedal can be powered by either a 9-volt battery or an optional Dunlop ECB-03 AC Adapter. To install a 9-volt battery, remove the bottom plate of the pedal. Connect the battery to the clip and place it inside the battery compartment. Replace the bottom plate.
Connecting to Audio Chain
Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack on the pedal using a standard 1/4" instrument cable. Connect the OUTPUT jack of the pedal to your amplifier's input or to the next effect pedal in your signal chain using another 1/4" instrument cable.

Operating Instructions
Basic Wah Function
The Cry Baby Wah pedal is activated by rocking your foot back and forth on the pedal. The effect is engaged when the pedal is pressed down from the heel-down position. The range of the wah effect is controlled by the pedal's position.
- Heel-Down Position: This position emphasizes lower frequencies, producing a bass-heavy tone.
- Toe-Down Position: This position emphasizes higher frequencies, producing a treble-heavy tone.
Sound Shaping with the Potentiometer
The pedal features a 100k ohm Hot Potz potentiometer, which is crucial for the wah sound. Rocking the pedal changes the resistance of this potentiometer, sweeping through the frequency range. This allows for dynamic tonal expression, from subtle filtering to pronounced vocal-like effects. Experiment with different speeds and ranges of motion to achieve desired sounds, including adding sustain or feedback to specific overtones.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the pedal with a soft, dry cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use the included Fibertique cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Battery Replacement
When the pedal's performance degrades or the LED indicator (if present) dims, the 9-volt battery may need replacement. Follow the instructions in the 'Power Connection' section under 'Setup' to replace the battery.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Check all cable connections. Ensure the guitar, pedal, and amplifier are powered on. Verify the 9-volt battery is fresh or the AC adapter is properly connected.
- Weak Wah Effect: Ensure the pedal is fully engaged. Check the battery level.
- Scratchy Sound when Operating Pedal: This may indicate wear on the potentiometer. Contact customer support for assistance.
