Safety Information
- Ensure the cabinet is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.
- Do not open more than one drawer at a time, especially when drawers are heavily loaded, to maintain stability and prevent tipping.
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the cabinet that could cause instability.
- Keep keys out of reach of children.
- For added stability, especially when drawers are frequently opened or heavily loaded, consider securing the cabinet to a wall using appropriate hardware (not included).
Package Contents
Your Pemberly Row filing cabinet arrives pre-assembled. The package includes:
- 1 x Pemberly Row 2-Drawer Vertical Metal Filing Cabinet
- 2 x Keys for the locking mechanism
Setup
This filing cabinet is designed for immediate use as it arrives fully pre-assembled. No assembly is required.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the cabinet from its packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit.
- Placement: Position the cabinet on a flat, stable, and level surface in your desired location. Ensure there is adequate space to fully open the drawers.
- Leveling: If the cabinet appears uneven, adjust its position or use shims under the base to ensure it is level. A level cabinet prevents drawers from opening or closing unintentionally.

Operating Instructions
Drawer Operation
- To open a drawer, gently pull the handle outwards.
- To close a drawer, push it firmly until it is fully seated.
- Avoid forcing drawers open or closed. If a drawer is stiff, check for obstructions or ensure the cabinet is level.
Loading Files
The drawers are designed to accommodate letter-size hanging file folders. Ensure files are evenly distributed to prevent tipping and ensure smooth drawer operation.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Drawer Slides: Periodically check the drawer slides for smooth operation. If they become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts.
- Lock: Keep the lock mechanism clean. If the key becomes difficult to turn, a graphite-based lubricant can be used sparingly.
Troubleshooting
Drawer is Stiff or Not Opening/Closing Smoothly
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure no items are blocking the drawer's path or caught in the slides.
- Level Surface: Verify the cabinet is on a level surface. Uneven placement can cause drawers to bind.
- Overloading: Reduce the weight or redistribute contents within the drawer.
- Lubrication: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the drawer slides if necessary.
Cabinet Tipping Forward When Drawer is Open
- Load Distribution: Ensure heavier items are placed in the bottom drawer to lower the center of gravity.
- One Drawer Rule: Only open one drawer at a time.
- Secure Cabinet: For enhanced stability, especially if frequently used or heavily loaded, consider anchoring the cabinet to a wall.
Lock Not Working
- Drawers Fully Closed: Ensure both drawers are completely closed before attempting to lock.
- Key Insertion: Make sure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly.
- Lubrication: If the key is stiff, apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the lock mechanism.
