Maintenance

1. Water Resistance

Your Casio HDC-700-3AV watch is rated for 100-meter water resistance. This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving. Do not operate buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.

  • Avoid exposing the watch to hot water or steam, as this can damage the seals.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.

2. Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by a single Lithium Metal battery. While designed for long life, battery replacement should be performed by a qualified technician to ensure water resistance is maintained. Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself.

3. Cleaning and Care

  • Wipe the watch case and band periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture.
  • For resin bands, you can use a mild soap solution and a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to strong chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the resin materials.
  • Store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

Troubleshooting

1. Analog Hands Do Not Match Digital Time

  • Perform the "Adjusting Analog Hand Position" procedure described in the Setup section.
  • Ensure the digital time and date are set correctly for your time zone.

2. Digital Display is Blank or Faint

  • The battery may be low. Contact a qualified technician for battery replacement.
  • Extreme temperatures can affect the display. Allow the watch to return to normal operating temperature.

3. Buttons Are Not Responding

  • Ensure the watch is not in a mode that locks button operations (e.g., some setting modes require specific button presses to exit).
  • If the watch was recently submerged, ensure it is completely dry. Do not press buttons underwater.
  • If the issue persists, a reset may be required. Consult a service center.

4. Incorrect Time or Date

  • Re-check the digital time and date settings, including the city code and DST setting, as described in the Setup section.
