Setup Guide
1. Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the guitar and accessories for any signs of damage. Ensure all listed items are present.
2. Attaching the Guitar Strap
Locate the two strap buttons on your guitar. One is typically on the lower horn of the body, and the other is on the bottom edge of the body. Securely attach each end of the guitar strap to these buttons.
3. Connecting to the Mini Amplifier
- Ensure the mini amplifier is charged or has fresh batteries (1 CR2032 battery is included for the tuner, the amp is rechargeable via USB-C).
- Connect one end of the 10 ft AWG24 guitar cable to the output jack on your guitar (located on the front edge of the body).
- Connect the other end of the guitar cable to the "INPUT" jack on the mini amplifier.
- To power on the amplifier, press and hold the "POWER" button until the indicator light illuminates.
- Adjust the "VOLUME", "TONE", and "GAIN" knobs on the amplifier to your desired settings.
4. Tuning the Guitar
Use the included DT-04 Digital Tuner to accurately tune your guitar. Attach the tuner to the headstock of the guitar. Pluck each string individually and adjust the corresponding tuning peg until the tuner indicates the correct pitch (E-A-D-G-B-e, from thickest to thinnest string).

Operating Your Guitar
1. Pickup Configuration (H-S-S)
Your Donner DST-100B features an H-S-S (Humbucker-Single-Single) pickup configuration. This provides a versatile range of tones:
- Humbucker Pickup: Located at the bridge, this pickup offers a richer, warmer sound with higher output, ideal for rock and heavier genres.
- Single-Coil Pickups: Located at the middle and neck positions, these provide a brighter, clearer, and more articulate tone, suitable for blues, funk, and clean sounds.

2. 5-Way Pickup Selector Switch
The 5-way switch allows you to select different pickup combinations:
- Position 1 (Bridge): Humbucker pickup only.
- Position 2 (Bridge & Middle): Humbucker and middle single-coil combined.
- Position 3 (Middle): Middle single-coil pickup only.
- Position 4 (Middle & Neck): Middle and neck single-coil combined.
- Position 5 (Neck): Neck single-coil pickup only.
3. Volume and Tone Controls
- Volume Knob: Controls the overall output volume of the guitar.
- Tone Knobs (x2): Adjust the treble frequencies. One tone knob typically controls the neck pickup, and the other controls the middle pickup.

4. Whammy Bar (Tremolo System)
The included whammy bar (tremolo arm) can be inserted into the bridge system. It allows for pitch bending effects, adding vibrato or dive-bomb sounds to your playing. Use it gently to avoid excessive stress on the strings and bridge.
Mini Amplifier Operation
The portable mini amplifier is designed for practice and offers two tone channels (Clean and Overdrive/Distortion).
- Power Button: Press and hold to turn on/off.
- Clean/OD Switch: Toggles between clean and overdrive/distortion channels.
- Gain Knob: Adjusts the amount of distortion/overdrive.
- Tone Knob: Controls the tonal characteristics (brightness/darkness).
- Volume Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume of the amplifier.
- BT (Bluetooth) Button: Activates Bluetooth pairing for playing along with backing tracks from your device.
- Aux In: 1/8" auxiliary input jack for connecting external audio sources (e.g., media player, CD player).
- Headphone Output: 1/8" headphone output jack for silent practice.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the strings, fretboard, and body with a soft, dry cloth to remove sweat and grime. This helps prevent corrosion and maintains the finish.
- String Replacement: Strings should be replaced regularly, especially if they sound dull, are corroded, or break. Use the included extra string set or suitable nickel-plated electric guitar strings.
- Fretboard Care: Periodically clean and condition the purpleheart fretboard to prevent drying and cracking.
- Truss Rod Adjustment: The truss rod (adjustable via the included wrench) controls the neck relief. Adjustments should only be made if you notice excessive bowing or back-bowing of the neck, and preferably by an experienced technician.
- Storage: Store your guitar in its gig bag when not in use to protect it from dust, humidity changes, and physical damage.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound from Amplifier:
- Check if the amplifier is powered on and charged.
- Ensure the guitar cable is securely connected to both the guitar and the amplifier.
- Verify that the guitar's volume knob is turned up.
- Test with a different cable or guitar if possible to isolate the issue.
- Poor Sound Quality/Buzzing:
- Check for loose cable connections.
- Ensure the guitar is properly tuned.
- Adjust the tone and gain settings on the amplifier.
- If using the overdrive channel, ensure the gain is not set excessively high, which can cause unwanted noise.
- Tuning Instability:
- New strings often stretch and require frequent re-tuning initially.
- Ensure strings are properly wound around the tuning pegs.
- Check for any binding at the nut or bridge saddles.
