Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your docking station:
- Connect Power: Connect the included AC power adapter to the "DC IN" port on the rear of the docking station and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Connect to Host Laptop:
- For USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 laptops: Use the USB-C end of the provided cable to connect the docking station's "USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C) to Laptop" port to your laptop's USB-C port.
- For USB-A laptops: Attach the USB-A adapter to the USB-C end of the provided cable, then connect it to your laptop's USB-A port.

- Install Drivers (if necessary): The docking station utilizes DisplayLink technology. While many operating systems will automatically install the necessary drivers, it is recommended to visit the Targus support website or DisplayLink's website to download and install the latest drivers for optimal performance.
- Connect Displays: Connect your external monitors to the HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2a ports on the rear of the docking station. You can use a combination of these ports for dual display setup.
- Connect Peripherals:
- USB Devices: Connect your keyboard, mouse, external hard drives, or other USB devices to the available USB 3.0 ports (Type-A) on the docking station.
- Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the Gigabit Ethernet port.
- Audio: Connect headphones, speakers, or a microphone to the combined Audio In/Out jack.
- Power On: Press the power button on the docking station to turn it on. Your laptop should detect the connected displays and peripherals.

Operating Instructions
Display Configuration
Once connected, your operating system should automatically detect the external displays. You can configure display settings as follows:
- Windows: Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" or "Screen resolution." From here, you can arrange your displays, choose between "Extend these displays," "Duplicate these displays," or "Show only on 1/2."
- macOS: Go to "System Preferences" > "Displays." You can arrange displays, set resolutions, and choose between "Mirror Displays" (duplicate) or extended desktop mode.
Power Delivery
The docking station provides power to your connected laptop. Ensure your laptop's power requirements are within the 100W limit for USB-C power delivery. For legacy laptops, select the appropriate power tip and connect it to your laptop's power input.
USB and Network Usage
All connected USB devices and the Gigabit Ethernet port will function automatically once the docking station is properly connected to your laptop and drivers are installed.
Maintenance
